I am afraid......

I am eagerly waiting until the weekend to get skyrim (focusing on school work so I dont fail), but I have seen mixed reviews. People are saying 11/10, best game every, game of the year, etc. Some people are saying waste of money, not that fun, bad graphics, etc. After seeing those bad reviews I am almost re-thinking about buying this game. I want it terribly bad though. Should I get it?

Post your complaints about the game and what you love.

I'm a 58 year old Grandma and I loved Elder Scrolls. I've only got about 15 hours in this game and while I don't yet think it's as good as Elder Scrolls, it's a great game. I'm playing on a PS3 and have encountered a few bugs but nothing that ruins the game for me. I'm sure as I get more hours into it I will love it as much as IV. I wouldn't hesitate buying it if I were you.

10/10 for me. I haven't had this much fun playing a game since Fallout 3. I love this game.

You created two questions. In order to answer, people must say that it is both a good game and a bad game.

It appears that way, I cannot vote in the poll. It is defective!

Skyrim is definitely worth your money especially for PC. Imo it's not nearly as good as Bethesda's Fallout 3, New Vegas and it's the worst TES for me unfortunately, but it's still one of the best games in the market for sure!

I always give it a solid 7/10.
I was disappointed, but still thought it was a good game, and worth the money.
Besides, if I never bought it, I wouldn't even know, and that would kill me

Great game IMO. I'm enjoying every minute of it. I don't think you'll regret the purchase at all.

You know you're going to get it, so why go through all of this.

It's a tes game. if you have played any of them before then you know what you are in for.

You'll get awesome and bleh in the same game.

I'd probably give it around an 8.7. Really fun game, Beth did an incredible job building the world and dungeons but loses points for the p**s poor quality of the PC port and lack of a CK.

Once we get the CK and we really get mods rolling I'd think that score would climb well into the 9's. That's a little disingenuous to score the game after mod'ers fix everything though. :P

I'd give it a 7 or 8 out of 10, let's just call it a 7.5. Bethesda improved so many little things from Oblivion, yet at the same time screwed up royally on others. (See magic system)

I've stopped playing it, and won't be returning until the CS comes out and I can see about fixing my gripes.

10 / 10 for me, on pc. I like the game and I'm enjoying playing very much.

I love the fact that it's open ended ( not forced to do tasks a,b,c then d) and all the exploring you can do.

It may not be perfect but I've never played a game that was. They all have some minor bugs or problems.

I'd say get the game for pc, you'll enjoy yourself & you can always mod the things that you don't like.

This poll has more bugs in it than a Beth magic system....

Correction, Skyrim's magic system. And it doesn't have bugs, it's just poor :teehee:

Most of the hate is people getting over-hyped, and then [censored]ing when the game isn't flawlessly perfect, and just damned exceptionally impressive.

I've logged about 200 hours so far, which is amazing. Considering I think a game is worth the money when I log 60 hours, and I haven't done the College, DB, civil war, or MQ yet.....

Skyrim is worth the money, any way you look at it. Unless the bugs are so crippling that you can't play. But, then again, Morrowind is supposedly the masterpiece created by god-kings of art and development, when it had WAY worse bugs on release than Skyrim. I'm talking your game exploding when you buy Imperial Chain.

TES will always win any war of attrition, because of mods, creation kit, patches, replayability, DLC, and sheer content.

I was going to vote 9 out of 10 since I dont believe it is possible to make a perfect game ... but your poll is broke :P

I'm up to 116 hours and havent run into any of the bugs that I keep hearing about, but there are little annoyances. Mostly it's how Bethesda never seems to change how people look at or speak to you after you finish certain quests. Just one example (trying to keep it spoiler free), a certain person in a guild treats you like complete crap when you join. Later on if you decide to take over the guild this person still has the same dialog and treats you the same way, going so far as to threaten you. When the CK comes out I personly plan on modding his speach to reflect the fact that you are his boss, he doesnt have to like you but the crap attitude has to go .. if I cant figure it out ... he dies :D

Thats just one example, but there are several instances where I think the NPC interaction could be better. I still love the game and am happy I bought it. I see myself playing this game for several more years. If it appears that the forums are flooded with negative reviews it's because the people who would defend the game are busy playing and enjoying it.

I give Skyrim 9/10. It's IMO the best Elder Scrolls so far (played MW, OB, SK) and it's a generally balanced pack of goodness, it has something for everyone. Of course it has flaws and things that should be better, but the good sides overcome the bad sides easily. Also, the developer encouragement of modding is a rare sight in gaming industry these days. Usually devs prevent modding to make the game shorter and thus makes the players abandon the product and move on the next title, hopefully from the same developer, which equals money. Bethesda does care about its fans indeed.

It is so much fun. Kinda simplified, but its so damn fun. I'm a night lade with a very heavy emphasis on magic and I can literally say that I'm unstoppable. Not because my character is godly, (150 hp, lvl 72) but because the strategizing (runes, illusion, conjuration, etc.) is so much fun before every battle. People will say certain skills are OP like enchanting and smithing, but I haven't encountered any problems yet.

7. Nothing new here really if you've played Oblivion or Fallout. It's just more of the same, despite dragons. It'll pass some hours, sure, but I can't see it sticking around as long as Morrowind and Oblivion. Maybe on pc with mods. This one just seems to be lacking a soul. I imagine once the novelty has worn off , it just won't stand up the way others do.

I find it kinda of boring, I really don't know why. I was so excited for this game, but I've had more fun in oblivion.

I honestly think it has been dumbed down to much, damn you xbox.

Skyrim WOULD be great if it weren't for all the bugs and glitches and balancing problems. I would suggest waiting a couple more months before buying it. Hopefully by then Bethesda will have fixed most of the bugs and balancing issues.
