AFT, UFO or EFF? You think?

Post » Tue Jul 01, 2014 10:05 pm

Currently, I have AFT installed. And while it doesn't dissapoint me, I do get the feeling that the mod offers more than I would want, that it does what I want, but that it's also a bit overwhelming.

UFO seems a bit more straight to the point, but it's been a while since the mod has been updated, same for EFF.

I assume quite alot of people use follower mods like these, because I am convinced that they help a bunch with certain things. So if you do use one of these follower mods, could you tell me which one you prefer? I'm just asking incase I want to switch.

So, we are all supposed to know what AFT, UFO and EFF are?

Actually, UFO was last updated more recently than the latest version of AFT (November 2013 for UFO compared to summer 2013 for AFT) - check the update file on the UFO page rather than the main file.

I do. don't you? I mean everyone knowshttp://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Fargoth%27s_Hiding_Place At Fargoths Treestump.

As to that strange beast in the sky? I would class that as a UFO..get my drift  wouldnt report it to the guards though (they might think your crazy; but look them in the eye and with a stern face just mutter "anol probe" and they will leave you be.)

As to EFF: Come on you must know this one? Every First Friday. First friday of the month a bunch of us run into the woods around Falkreath and dance naked under the moon drinking fire-whiskey. Once we've geared our selves up we go looking for a bear. The first one to slap its testicles wins.

anyway thats what I think they mean but I am not too sure why the op would be having issues with any of those events......

disclaimer: this answer is just a bit of fun and not meant for actual interpretation.

EDIT: but in answer to the topic UFO is much better imo. I have used it a fair bit and never had any issues with it.

I've used both AFT and UFO and both are pretty solid. So I dont think picking either would be a bad choice.

No, I don't. But you can talk between yourselves, of course.

I have used UFO and AFT and my personal preference is AFT - just wished it would release with an MCM menu.

haha I meant that in jest. I only actually knew what UFO was and had not heard of the other two. I surely didnt mean to make assumptions: hence the rest of my ridiculous post. Forgive me; I am in quite a humorous mood which can come across as annoying.

My apologies, they're follower mods that allow you to have a better control over your companions.

Allow more than one follower, make them level along with you etc.

This is a clever one.

Both mods have some cool features, and I have tried none of them. I guess it boils down to personal preferences.

Here's a video I've found that might give you some insights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k7IHXW4hbo

I use AFT and love it. It allows me to change follower's clothes and armor, alter combat behavior, prevent them from springing traps, view their stats, ect, pretty much everything I ever need in the way of a follower mod.

But I can understand how it might feel overwhelming. I felt overwhelmed when I tried to use Vilja recently (a wonderful mod, by the way - I'm not criticizing). Sometimes an abundance of choice can feel too much like over-abundance.

I've only used AFT, so I can't comment on the others, but I have noticed that the Player character gets a lot less experience with multiple followers, which is what I suspect most people are looking for. It's offset a bit by doing more smithing and enchanting to supply the extra followers, but that builds a different type of character than you may intend.
