Love them both and Brink is not always laggy. FYI I have had way less lag issues with Brink than Crysis. Brinks DS is PC and P2P for console. Just as Sia109 stated.

Sia109 I will be back on Crysis at some point this weekend. Hit me up and we will run as usual.

I just spoke to gamestation. They told me not to bother. "its not a finished game" "map layout svck" "Lag" "its a shame" they said.

Here comes my free copy of Brink to see me over until the 10 day refund expires. lol. They say the wrong, but right things ever time.

I guarantee within those 10 days ...you will like it. Chwigga...a little tip when joining online: In the matchmaking options right before you join a match from 'freeplay'...change the mode from STANDARD 8V8 to COMPETITIVE 5V5. Doing this will give you 100% lag free matches.

Good luck...hope you enjoy it as much as I am.

I had Brink and it's already been traded back for a pathetic $23, which went toward the purchase of Halo: Reach. Hell of a lot more fun, however, I still enjoy Crysis.

I don't know why everyone has to compare the FPS games like there is going to be a King of The Hill come out of them all. I personally own Crysis 2, CoD BlackOps, Halo: Reach, & Brink & I bought them all in the last 2 months. I bought CoD & Halo at the same time. On top of that I played the GOW beta a few times. I think the thing to do is play the games you enjoy, and just not play the ones that do not fit your tastes. I just don't think everyone has to make a clear cut decision on which game is the best because I trhought that was why developers made lots of games, so we could all play something different.

People like to call Crysis 2 a CoD clone, and I do see similiarities but overall they are night & day. I don't think the population in general can distinguish games if they are in a first person perspective. And I really cannot believe so many people down a game on reviews alone without first hand experience. If I only played games that got a 9 or better on game informer, I would only get to play games with a large advertising budget & load of fanboys.

I kind of feel like Bulletstorm, Halo & Gears of war 3 are more similar overall because it takes so many bullets to score a kill (Often more than 1 clip if the opponent has any cover or is moving erratically). Would you guys say that the damage it takes to score a kill in Brink is more like CoD or Halo?

Don't think you can easily compare GOW with those other games. For one its third person shooter and second and most important it has a cover system in place.
You also can't compare with the BF series which have destructible environments.

What I would love to see is a 3PS with a cover system and destructible environments.

You see, that is exactly what I'm saying. Bulletstorm & GOW is the same game, forget about perspective, cover, and special abilities. The guns act the same, and they feel identical. Everyone gets caught up in certain differences, and don't pay attention to the actual gameplay. Destructive environments mean very little, people need to realize it's the meat & potatoes of gameplay that make them come back for more. That is why CoD is so popular because the mechanics are simple, and it is more realistic to fire 2 short bursts from an M-16 to kill an un armored human than to unload a whole clip from an assault rifle, 1 00 shotgun shell, and then switch to a chainsaw to cut their chest open because they are still fully functional.

I know that no one gets the fact that games with a different perspective could have the same feel, and they jump at great graphics & destructible environments, but the gameplay is the main reason people play the crysis mp despite lag. It is more like CoD, and feels better to the gamer. Reminds me of a friend who took drugs & said he was studyng the buzz. He couldn't explain what differences he was feeling between the 2 drugs, but one would feel 'Dirty' while acid & meth felt 'clean'. Now how can meth feel clean? I guess it's all the detergent. GoW looks dirty, but the gameplay isn't viceral or gritty, it's just clean. Halo is clean.... Bulletstorm isn't as clean, but it isn't as gritty as Crysis or CoD. You may have to shoot real guns a lot to know what I mean.

I bought Brink the other day and at first I hated it. The more I play it though, the more that I like it. I have found that if you are open minded to enjoy games the way the developer intended, you will find great diversity in your experience and it expands the variety of games that you can enjoy. They all have good points and bad points. Brink kinda reminds me of counterstrike on steroids. I love Crysis, Brink, COD - all of them, Halo Reach and ODST, and countless others. Don't make games fit into your simple margin of taste.

I think what is happening is that most people get their minds locked onto one concept of a FPS such as COD...and have trouble adjusting to new gameplay mechanics. A lot of people didn't adjust well to Crysis2 online but eventually did...the same will happen with BRINK.

I've seen the phrase 'BRINK grows on you' in various forums lately...and it's true.

When/if Crytek fixes the 'grain bug' and adds a bit more content to multiplayer such as more weapons, than I'll kindly get back into Crysis2...I'm at lvl 45 online in C2 and am taking a break from it for now.

Personally, if I had a long list of Xbox friends to play with, Brink would be great, yes. I usually don't end up friending many people and am not normally very social while in game (unless I've been drinking or am bored).

My issue with Brink was that I was hoping the customization was all it said it was, and while it allowed vastly more options, I unlocked it so quickly that I felt like I had done everything.

Was Brink fun in ways, yes. If you were stuck with bots, trying to campaign solo, stuck with kill whores for players, it was possibly the most frustrating game I've ever played.

I suppose since I don't often game with other people, it just wasn't my forte. That and the movement compared to Crysis felt so slow and clunky, and I had hoped with this "SMART" system it would take Crysis' movement to a new level... In reality it dumbed it down. These, of course, are my opinions. If you enjoy Brink, great. To each his own. I might pick it up again when it hits $17.99 used.

I completely agree. This game has nothing on Crysis imo. It felt like I was playing a PS2 game at some points. I wont be keeping the for 24 hours let alone 10 days. The only other game i've experienced lag like that was on AvP. Regardless of what patch it gets the game will be forgotten about in a month. I'm shocked to see a game look as poor as this. Terrible.

Brink = One of the worse FPS games i've ever played this Gen.
