After beating the game, I have several questions. SPOILERS!

Obviously, lots of spoilers ahead so tread with caution!!!

Full Disclosure: I haven't played Kidman's story yet, soI understand the DLC might answer some of my questions. Regardless, I've looked up tidbits of info based on the DLC, and I still have several unanswered questions about the (main) Evil Within story. I was able to make some connections on my own, but perhaps through the collective power of the internet we could figure these things out.

So without further ado:

  • At the end of chapter 15, where you pick up the last Audio Diary, I noticed there was Russian writing on pieces of equipment. I also noticed a three star logo with a brain probe on several doors. Is that an overt reference to the Mobius group? Are they Russian? EDIT: I googled and found an image that seems to suggest that this is a direct reference to Mobius, explained in Kidman's story.

  • What's up with the mannequins? What significance are they to Ruvik's development. There was one in his room when he was doing experiments on the pig head flashback.

  • Why do some enemies wear Masks? Whats with the masks? They're very "clown like." Does it have to do with a memory of the Merry-go-round? These are very specific sets of imagery and I'm sure they're in here for a reason.

  • Each of the bosses is in some way a link to personality of Ruviks, right? Actually, I checked the in-game character models, and there are actually some revealing tidbits of information there, so I'm mostly satisfied with answers on this one.

  • Who is the crazy guy in the cell that talks to you about Ruviks and his hate sometimes? Is he in Kidman's story? Is that Fernando Cabrera (one of the missing poster people)?

  • How did everyone end up in the STEM to begin with? Did Ruviks have influence or power in the "real world" to create a mass hysteria and attach people to the STEM? Wasn't Ruviks already a brain at that point? Is that why everyone is dead at the start in the hospital?

  • At some point in the story, it's established that Ruvik's wanted revenge for losing his sister, but what was the impetus that drove him to experiment in the first place? He was already looking at brains even as a kid, and experimenting on animals. The sister incident was probably what caused him to go over the edge, create traps to catch people and do more experiments... but is it pretty much implied he was a psychopath from the get go? A condition that was made worse since he forced to live in the basemant, and killed his parents, etc.

  • Why is Leslie a perfect match for the STEM machine? Where did he even come from? According to what I found online, he and Ruviks share similar traumas? Apparently his family was killed, so they match due to that?

  • What did Seb's wife uncover? What was she investigating? Where is she? Who killed Seb's daughter (was it Ruviks who burnt the house down?) There's a whole side-drama with Seb and his motivations to investigate which seemingly have nothing to do with the incident at Beacon Mental Hospital, and hardly anything is resolved for him as a character, as far as I know. I must be missing something huge here.

  • At one point, Ruvik's says something very telling. It's right when he goes into his blood bubble mode for the first time (after the barn burns down). He directly blames Seb, specifically saying "you did this to us", "Us" a reference to Ruviks and his sister in the fire? That can't be true, so what the heck is going on there? -As a side note, the sunflowers facing away from the sunlight and towards the darkness right before the barn fire scene is kind of a neat imagery to set up an unsettling scene, imo. There's probably some intentional meaning behind that.

  • The doctor mentions traps. I wonder if Ruviks captured all the dudes who burnt the barn down and used them to do his brain surgery. I feel like some of the Haunted look like those types that burnt the place down. However, a lot of the dudes you face in the game (according to the in game model viewer) represent certain types of psychological and mental issues (like bi-polar disorder or people whose consciousness were lost to the machine), so maybe those are just some of the many patients that were attached to the STEM thanks to the good doctor and his multiple failed tests. Still, there are several "missing people." Why were they considered missing if not by Ruvik’s will to "experiment?"

  • Who is Tatiana supposed to represent to Seb? Her missing poster labels her an overnight nurse at Beacon. Was she was an agent of Mobius or something? Is she some form of his wife?

  • WHY DID KIDMAN HAVE A MISSING POSTER? Why is she a kid in the poster? Maybe this stuff is covered in the DLC, but I can't help but feel this was for "no reason."

  • What "materials" did the hospital provide to Ruviks (other than patients to experiment on)? I'm guessing this is a reference to all of the newspaper clippings that specifically mentioned missing people?
