AFTER 1.01;; FALLOUT NEW VEGAS IS STILL BROKEN

Post » Wed Dec 30, 2009 6:05 pm

I am running on a 500gb Playstation 3; 1st gen.

Originally, the 80gb Motorstorm bundle

Whenever I walk past "The King's Theater" I always... ALWAYS freeze up before the bus.
The picture freezes, but the audio keeps playing.

I am, on the quest "The house always wins II"

Please help.. D:

If it did fix anything it was something so tiny I haven't even noticed it yet. Not that I can get very far when it keeps freezing.

I have First Gen 60GB PS3.
I have never had any problems with the system.
Fallout 3 and Fallout new vegas are the only games I have ever had problems with.
Even Oblivion played better on the ps3. So far for me its the best game on the ps3 that was made from Bethesda.

I had to restart. 60+ hours, and a level 30 character.. just to be thrown away..

I have found that it actually made it worse. I had no freeze or save corruption problems on 1.0 now with 1.0.1 I have had multiple freezes of the game. Saves that say happened but didnt and have wasted 5 hours and multiple location finds. Is there any way to revert to 1.0?

There is. Just delete the installation from your system but save your save files on a USB. Then re-install it and deny the patch. But there are some reports saying that when you reinstall it and apply the patch and start a new game, the game runs smoother. I have yet to test it.

I know how that's feels...in Oblivion I had a level 43 character and around 180 hours all gone. Data got corrupted. It hurt my soul lol.

I am having similar experiences. I'm sure the patch fixed many issues, but no where near the amount that is required. I still experience plenty of freezing, mob popping, floor dropping, VATS errors, flying character or mobs, broken mods for Weathered Pistol, sound problems and save file corruptions. I have deemed the game unplayable until at least one more patch comes out. The problems with Fallout 3 at release now seem like a dream compared to the disaster that New Vegas is.

Nope, didn't do a GD thing. My game file's so corrupted that I get the black freeze screen of death every time I try to load the Strip. Nice that EVERY MFING MISSION in the later part of the game is given or started here!!! I think gamesas's QA department needs to be drawn and quartered by Deathclaws...

The phrasing of the question is really bad. The question in the subject field is if New Vegas is still broken (acceptable question), which is NOT the same as the question you're then asked to answer, if it fixed ANYTHING.

If the patch fixed a few small things but not the biggies like the freezing, then it did in fact fix "something", while the game is still broken.

The question should have been something like: Does NW still have serious bugs after the patch?

So the result of the poll as it stands right now is useless, because people who still has huge bugs are found in all three of the answer alternatives.

the only problems i had were the broken pawn shop door (which i could still use by doing the 3rd person dance), the whole raul and ranger andy thing, and the Q-35 not loading correctly (which i cant even get by doing the dance. better load correctly on my energy weapons char...).

after patch the Q-35 is still messed up (maybe its fixed, but not if it already loaded wrong?), the door is fixed, and raul/andy still doesn't work. so i suppose it did fix something for me, but since i could get into the pawn shop anyway ill say kind of.

it also seems to freeze more, but i just assume that's because my save is about 100KB away from 10MB. same thing happened in F3, the bigger my saves got, the more they froze. (my 20MB save in the pitt was just ridiculous).

for those of you getting corrupted data, you really should regularly back your saves up. ever since my HDD got corrupted about a year ago and i lost every single save i had, before i turn off my ps3 i back up everything i did. that way if something happens to your save of entire hard drive, you only lose what you did since you turned it on instead of everything. flash drives are very cheap. i got a 4 gig for $15 (4 gigs is more than youll ever need)

And this is the problem with releasing a broken game. At the moment, I don't have the right connection to get the PS3 online, so there's currently no way I can update the game to fix the following crash:

PS3, level 29 and under, only way I can enter Lucky 38 area is by waiting a few moments for the characters to load into the scene, then look directly down and away from Gomorrah. If I look at it, the game freezes, not kidding either. Every time.
I made it into Lucky 38, finished a final mission, but as soon as I exit Lucky 38, the game screen turns black and the game Crashes, every time without fail, so the game is BROKEN and I'm unable to finish it.
Most everywhere else, the game runs 95% with crashing and is a great game otherwise.

Tip to Bethesda: Don't release a Broken game, as it's part of our experience, and reflects poorly on the hard work put into the game. Bad word of mouth is never good for sales.

Its pretty obvious your crashes where just a pre-cursor for a hardware failure of your old ps3. YLOD was bound to happen to all the 1gen PS3′s due to faulty design in the motherboard. was just a question of time tbh.
i remember my old PS3 getting allot more frequently crashes "regardless of the game that was played" before i finally got the YLOD

well for me the patch made it worse not better...
it now crashes/freezes a lot more often than before...

it may have fixed some of the other bugs, and that's
good, but the crash/freeze problem continues with
a vengence...

PS3 120gig (bought it just 3 months ago..)

none of my other games crash like FONV,
it's a constant problem with this game....

even FO3 GOTY doesn't crash nearly as much
until you get to about level 15 or so... then it
starts crashing a lot too... lmao

is there light at the end of the tunnel..?
doubtful, but one can hope..
