After finally playing Black Ops...

Post » Sun May 24, 2009 8:56 pm

I can safely say with personal experience, that the game is complete ****.... point blank end of story...

Between the campers delight and the poor graphics and textures, lack of action overall and seemingly unbalanced weaponry, what the **** do all of you see in this game? I mean has the COD franchise really brainwashed the populace that badly? This is the worst installment yet... i had more fun with modern warfare...

No lol see, theres a lot of debate about the difference between C2 and COD:BO.. lots of comparisons and debates on the matter. Im tossing my opinion up that after actually playing the game, C2 kicks the **** out of BO... its really a weak installment in the series... or such is my current opinion.

But thank you. I appreciate a member with 14 posts rudely attempting to inform me about what i should and shouldnt post here. stellar bro.

i dislike black ops at times also, it could have been much better, but i would'nt compare it to crysis 2, they have completely different fps gameplay..
COD has its own formula, unless someone matches the cod style gameplay with better servers and less bugs, then most people wont stray away from that series. i have fun with both games, it all comes down to wich gameplay you prefer i think. no need to hate

well my biggest issue was that with all the games i just played, the game is a total campfest... you touch down, run around the map, and for me it takes forever to find an enemy, and when i do he kills me from inside a bush somewhere... luckily, C2 is camper proof... the games too fast paced to camp effectively the way people do in BO. The graphics reminded me of pre MW graphics. unrealistic looking weapons with poor texturing and unrealistic looking movements. When the guys are running on screen it looks like they are running with a hot load of **** in their pants... its laughable at best... lol believe me ive been busting a gut over here playing this ****.. i actually didnt mind MW1 save for a slightly unbalanced perk program, and if you ask me the graphics were better on it. Treyarch **** up yet another title in the COD series...... whats disturbing is how the fanbase doesnt realize it, or plain out doesnt care.

Of course, everything is based on opinion when it comes to gaming. Unless a game is flat out unplayable or obviously inferior for some reason, there will always be debate on the differences. But im looking at things from an objective point of view, and looking for realism, fun, tactical opportunity, and the ability to maintain a game without resorting to newbish tactics (like setting your tent up....)

It's no contest between the textures and graphics when you compare the two. Crysis 2 has that, hands down. However, the host advantage is a lot less noticeable in Black Ops, and although I'm not really a fan of Black Ops, right now, I would pick it, over this game.

im on warlocks side on this one. Black ops is just as repetitive in the online concept as it was back in cod4. the reason cod4 was such a success was because this style of online was new and now it has been 5 years since and the same basic concept of leveling and grinding it out to reach max level and prestige over and over. the things you gain from prestiging arent anything that truly benefit your actual playing. i enjoyed some of the features of black ops like theater mode but even the sp was relatively similar to the others. I really do get tired of people camping in corners of maps just waiting for someone to cross their path. So Crysis 2 is the exact gameplay im looking for and i am happy with this even if there are many things that need to be worked out. i have faith in crytek

I agree that the games have their similarities but I personally believe Crysis is a but more fun. It's something new, fast, and exciting. And to be completely honest...Crysis 2 online really reminds me of Halo 3 on steroids or something. I love it!

We can all agree black ops is a step down in terms of graphics but people love it (me included) because it runs at a deliciously smooth 40-60 fps. Crysis 2 hits 15fps during times when it matters, also adding in the annoying motion blur on top of that and it's like trying to aim after 10 pints of lager. Granted, the graphic engine at work here is jaw-dropping but the resolution has been lowered to such a level that now everything looks blurry and muddy, especially in levels where there's no sunlight - which is most of them.

Personally, I would prefer it if Crytek lowered the graphics and upped the resolution to at least 720p, this would probably save us an extra 10 fps, so the game would actually be smooth to play.

Duh, Black Ops is just a poorly made game, No ammount of tweaks can fix that stinker. And I love Crysis 2, It's just in it's current state, It's an unplayable piece of **** with all the lag. If they just make it so you don't get killed in one shot all the time, The game will more than likely be the best FPS since Halo 2.

personally iv'e got no problems with connection on crysis 2 apart from the odd game where theirs a **** host, but black ops for me is truely unplayable with constant freezing and lag spikes. Seems most get the opposite of me then :/

I play both games. BO is not super duper FPS ever but it's way playable because of dynamic. All I want to say is that BO was also crippled with bugs at the beginning. It took few updates just to make the multiplayer part playable. So give C2 a chance. It is almost impossible to make so huge and complicated game 100% perfect working out of the box. Good for us we can get a patch and have hope that it will fix something. I am waiting with patience ;)

I traded in Black Ops to get Crysis 2, and I have not regretted that decision. Compared to Crysis 2 both graphically and gameplay wise Black Ops is a **** game.

CoD has used the same graphics engine since CoD 3, and has added only minor features in each sequel. Its lazy, boring and its the been-there-done-that.

Crysis 2 has had the time put into it, the grphics are beautiful, and the game is enjoyable.

What host advantage??? Crysis 2 is paid server only as of yet. Assuming some tard does pay for a server and then somehow manages to get playing access to THAT server computer, i reckon he downright deserves the advantage.

My problem with BO was the redicilous low resolution i needed to get on the required 60 FPS. I dont have a good graphics card, but C2 runs fine with max resolution (3:4 minitor no comments plz) on High and looks amazing. In BO i need to put it on a lower resolution and it still goes down to 30 FPS when there is someone with a noobtube, flamethrower, mortar, naplam etc.

I have died by spawning into enemy killstreaks, grenades and claymores. Hit detection is extremely bad and people use sad tactics, such as nova gas on bomb sites and group claymore camping.

C2 is a FPS game which rewards objectiv players, with something else then extreme nade spamming. And i love that.

I'm regret that I buy COD: BO. If I want to play any COD game. I will just play COD MW and MW2 again and again.
I can't even play MP games in BO coz there no server in south east asia.

I hate black ops, i like the zombies though. A lot of people like it because of that. However, my sister LOVES it.
The graphics were a disappointment..
I do love Modern Warfare <3 I still play.. It also makes me feel more accomplished by unlocking titles and weapons and perks and stuff, rather then just earning cod points and buying everything.

I agree with you. I am still looking for a game to fill my halo 3 void.. I dont care what anyone says but halo 3 got it right........... A sheild, a skill leveling system that wasnt run by xp, oversheild and invisibility in the maps, placed weapons with respawns..... and then they came out with reach and **** everything up. assholes

I agree, Black Ops is a step down from the 2 previous titles, and I'm not talking about the Singleplayer/storyline etc.

Games like these achieve greatness throught their Multiplayer. CoD:MW was and is still a great game, but the hackers have ruined it for me since the PS3 security issues.

MW2 was better still, and the graphics and general look in maps and textures etc seem superior to Black-Ops, nevermind the actual playability. Again, hackers and all the bloody sniper no-scopers and quick-scopers and spinners make it feel frustrating and like you are being cheated often. I'm kinda glad the altered the sniping system on Black-Ops. It's just the game is pretty rubbish in general. Zombies is okay though, I got weeks of fun out of Ascension. The maps all svck ass on Black-Ops too. I doubt any of them will survive through the next 2 installments (if they come)

Crysis 2 looks good, but I think the MP is broken tbh. It's a case of "spawn, shoot someone in the back, be shot in the back, curse, wait 5, rinse and repeat" just about all the time, and the weapons are crap, seeing as you need a full clip to kill someone usually, finding 2 or 3 enemies is certain death, and I always seem to be headshotted 10 times a round, and the killcam shows the guy as not aiming, firing 1 bullet, then turning away, then I die, and allsorts of ridiculous things that make me shout swears at the tv and shout "this game is shi**" and give up. I've persevered, but at rank 30 or so, I'm getting a bit fed up. The maps are garbage too, especially the night-time ones like Parking Lot, Statue etc. Terminal, Skyline and Lighthouse are about the best ones, but I really think that CoD maps like Wasteland, Crash, Overgrown, Strike, Vacant, Terminal, Scrapyard, and Highrise got it just about perfect for all types of players, and also MW2 got the kill/survivability of all the weapons just right, and the weapon 'feels' and favourites easy to find, with something for everyone. Crysis has messed it up I feel.

I hope it gets the patches to fix it, and soon, as I like the future look and the tech behind it.

If you think it takes a full clip to kill on Crysis 2, you svck. I can get 3 kills with a clip of Scar easy.
