After going back and watching Fallout 3 & New Vegas endi

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 8:42 am

I really have to wonder why Bethesda choose not to do a narrative ending like the other games. There is a small narrative, just about the protagonist and his/her son, but that's really it. In comparison to the other endings. It's just so shallow and hollow. This is really my only complaint about Fallout 4. This is the one thing I wish they would redo.

Most of the FO4 side quests are pretty linear.

The faction quests are the main difference.

I liked the Fallout 4 ending.

Why did you like the ending? It's the same every time around and goes on nothing about the impact that you caused in the world siding with whichever faction you chose. Sided with the Institute and beat the game with them several days ago and still have yet to see what impacts I made, apart from seeing a synth one time in Diamond City

I prefer if they focus on gameplay changes after the end that you can actually interact with and see for yourself, than on a speech and a couple of pics.

I'm more annoyed at them replacing Ron Pearlman's traditional intro/ending speeches with the "voiced protagonist"...because they actually thought we wanted that for some asinine reason

+1

The game has no ending. It doesn't end merely because a questline is completed.

No matter what choices you made who you sided with, what type of person you decided to be the world would have still keep spinning. nuclear bombs devasted the atmosphere yet life still managed. our choices mattered little to nothing in the grand scheme of it all. Slides?...videos?....doesnt matter because war......war never changes....or life........life always finds a way..........or some [censored] like that! Oh [censored] off I've been getting my ass kicked all day in baldersgate 2 and its late now im going to bed! [censored] mages!

Here's a thought about the ending.

What if....

They planned on introducing an actual ending with the last DLC.

Just would make the most since.

Its actually more likely because Ron Pearlman is old as hell and never really cared about Fallout.

I saw an interview awhile back where he was talking about things he had VAd for, and he couldn't remember the name of Fallout, all he knew was "its that game with war never changes", and the interviewer was like "you mean Fallout?" and he was "yeah that's it".

Ron is old, doesn't really give a [censored] about Fallout, and isn't likely going to be around for the one after next. They might as well change it now and get it over with.

That's not an unusual thing, most voice actors couldn't care less about the games/movies they voice act for, and he's 65, it's not that old and he certainly isn't going to be on his deathbed because of age anytime soon.

I miss the narrative ending as well, the game just doesn't feel complete without it, IMO.

I would like ending slides, but this ending felt like a new beginning, so i understand why they didn't put it in there. Also there are a few quests after said ending that is sort of the real ending, if that makes any sense. Still i do hope that if they add a DLC that continues the main story of the Sole Survivor that we will get slides at the end of that, when Fallout 4 is really over. As of now i feel like its just getting started. Dragon Age Inquisition did this, and it worked out well, imo.

True enough. Voice Acting is a job just like any other. Sometimes we get fans of the work, sometimes they just milk the attention for all it is worth, some hate working at the job and just want to get paid, and most just care about the paycheque and are apathetic towards their job.

That is bloody disgusting, paying for a ending.

Yeah, I personally missed the ending slides and outro speeches. And yeah the ending definitely seemed hollow without them.

My favorite was Dead Moneys outro ending. "Because everybody can begin again"...
