so when choosing clothing to unlock is it more " get this level to get it" or ex pay-out?

You know what? I've watched so much of this game for so long, I know I'll like it. I think we all get upset purely because we want everyone else to like it too and we get defensive.
Thanks for the post, bud.
Made me feel a lot better coming from a hard-core fan like most of us here.

Are you having difficult aiming/shooting? Aim assist on or off?

Try three round burst style and crouching. The game suggested it and it works very nicely!

You get to preview all clothing and body stuff before you buy. You earn unlock points as you play and it doesnt take forever to get them. Theres challenge mode that unlocks weps and various other things and then campaign mode just gives XP which also unlocks but in a more linear way.

For example, Challenge 2 - Get 2 stars and get Barret, RED DOT, ect ect. . .

You complete me....

No but seriously - Im glad your enjoying it to the fullest, In the end it will come down to "Self decision" - You either like it, or dont.

LOL BRO. . .IGN gave it 6/10. So they are saying HOMEFRONT and MEDAL OF HONOR are better games than BRINK? BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. . .IGN has lost all if they ever had any credibility with me.

Love this game so far. Took some getting used to, but once I got the hang of it, it is a blast. For those who just like to go for kills and don't like team/objective based games, then this might not be for you. I love team games, and you level faster by doing things that help your team, vs. going for kills and free roaming on your own. This game is all about sticking together and having the back of your squad members. If you don't like that, then go back to COD and enjoy your frag-fest with endless killstreaks, spawn campers and everyone playing as an individuals.

My only concern is "What of the multiplayer / co-op" - Is it really as complicated as people are making it out to be?

I understand theres no lobbys - But how exactly does it work then?

Do you HAVE too have friends playing it- in order to drop in drop out?

Or can you "For example on Steam PC people" - Can you still select "servers" refresh, and join one of those games?

Its just becoming quite frightening how confusing people are making it all sound.

Co-op to me is most important/

After a solid five hour playthrough, its like the veil has been lifted off my eyes. See, here's how I see it. When MW1 introduced prestige mode, the focus on skill and teamwork took a backseat to gaining XP. All these years later, we are like "Wow I don't have to obsess about lvling anymore?" and also "Hmmm so we just play the game just to play the game? Not for some pointless emblem?" Congrats everyone, Neo has been pulled out of the Matrix. I will go into detail later, but to be honest this is the most fulfilling gaming experience I have had in a very long time.

This is what I wanted to hear. When I think back over my favourite fps experiences (goldeneye, timesplitters etc) it was simply about having fun, playing for the sake of playing. We've got lost in a world where our every action needs rewarding, where we're always looking for the next goal to aim for, just one more level and I can unlock that weapon, that accessory. To what end though? Back in the day the tools were already there from day one, every weapon available for everyone. "Here's your toys, go have some fun". Now developers restrict these toys, they say "No you have to earn them, you have to keep playing our game" and we've become used to it, we've forgotten that it wasn't always that way.

So you can unlock everything in Brink within a day or so. And? Should we now stop playing because there's no carrot on the end of the stick? Or should we enjoy the freedom the tools at our disposal now give us and go out and enjoy ourselves?

I am LVL 6. . .And thus far. . .9/10. Quite frankly it's so intense that you want to take breaks between missions. . .I love the feel of the movement. . .although in some places you get stuck. The weps are great and having two primary weps never hurt my feelings. Grenades feel a bit weak but they still do what they need to. No point in trying to be BRAVEHEART youll just die. . .

Did you have to download a patch for ps3...i was playing bioshock 2 when i got a prompt to update

You can update any game because the game company is responsible for the update servers not Sony. . .I also updated with Bioshock 2. Man that game is hard!

After 10 hours of gameplay. . .

I have wall walked straight to an enemy and melee killed him. I have had a medic toss my a syringe from the second floor while I was on the first in the middle of planting a bomb. I have straight up parkour 'ed like it was DANCING WITH THE STARS. Fellow gamers, every game has its bugs to work out. If you met a hot chic with an awesome body, but found out she had bad breath, would you dump her? No, you would buy her a pack of gum. The same applies to BRINK. Engage it, dont abandon it because some fat guy who sits in a cubicle all day listening to himself give reviews to games he hasn't even fully played.

I was trying hard to get an objective when I had to escort a turret when I decided on the fly to escort some guy on my team. LOL, we both balcony dived off the third floor into a bunch of enemies and straight neo/trinitied them into last week. I was screaming and laughing because I play on a 1080p 50 inch widepanel LCD and had a bit too much "COFFEE" and I saw the guy with the jesse ventura hat get naded into a wall. Wow, haters. . .You are missing out. I am having the time of my life. Cheers!

Nice to see a console review albeit be a PS3 review, I'm curious to see how the multiplayer is on the 360 at the moment. Anywho free of biased opinions and such, good review

BRINK did not port anything, so I feel confident that PC, 360 and PS3 versions, after fresh patches, will be nice and smooth as they just need a little touch up.

Excellent comment. Anybody who criticises the levelling system should take note.

Ah, them be words of wisdom kiddies, take heed! It could happen to you. (Also, suggest daily teeth brushing. You think it would be a given but...)

Great post! I too am enjoying the game. (After HOURS of bug fixing, and re-installing.) Its a fantastic game, that is just BRUTAL. I love it. Alot of the haters are A. Having issues. or B. Didn't research into the game before purchase.

I think that your point "B: Didn't research into the game before purchase." is the dominant reason as to why people are hating on this... Granted I haven't played it, but to me it seems very different to most other popular shooters, especially in the movement and customization of char looks department.

Wow you have had some bad luck bro. I suggest not moving your PS3 and make sure it is plugged into a surge protector. Also, laying the system base side down will help the blu ray player not to compete with gravity. I have had mine for four years now and I vacuum it out at least once a month and have no problems. A well ventilated area doesnt hurt either. Cheers!

  • The only time my PS3 moves is when I take it out of the box. And I am VERY careful.
  • I did have it plugged into a dual-socket surge protector for a year, but it's awkward shape meant it kept slipping out of the socket and it's gotten to the point where my monitor unplugs and turns off every few seconds.
  • I have only ever put them base-side down.
  • I wouldn't know how to vacuum it safely, but about every month or two I vacuum, dust, and clean all surfaces of my room.
  • It used to be a foot and a half off the ground in a wide cupboard, rotated 90o and placed in the middle so it has room to breathe. I would close the cupboard when I wasn't playing. Now (because of my latest monitor's awkward cables) it's on top of the cupboard, a good three feet off the ground, with all the ventilation in the world.

So I do try take care of my consoles. Obliviondoll thanked me for taking all the world's faulty consoles... yenno, taking one for the team. They were all fat consoles, but it got the point where Sony/Tech Support upgraded me to a larger slim for free. It's still yet to break on me 10 months down the line; it freezes on freeze-prone games, but nothing too worrying.
