After installing mods the game is totally broken.

Hello everyone

I'm getting really desperate here.

I tried to download some mods using Nexus mods and NMM in the past, but none worked for me so I called it and uninstalled them. After watching a youtube video promoting mods that caught my eye I decided to give it another shot, but things got totally out of control and I'm really lost at the moment. The mods didn't work again, so I decided to delete NMM and all it's mods and components (I don't need mods to play the game, just some lore friendly mods looked well and I wanted to try them out). But once I ran the game, I got this statement when loading latest save: ,,This save relies on content that is no longer present..". I can still run the game, however it crashes upon entering/leaving building or so. I tried earlier save, but it's not working as well

Another things I noticed:
- there is no run animation. The character just stands like a wood, strangely slides across the ground. SCREEN (note that I can't post screenshots yet, so it's the way it is :/) i.imgur . com /eF9JOTR.jpg?1
- Serana (as my follower) is gone and is nowhere to be found
- I lost my vampire eyes, even though I'm still a vampire lord and can use my vampire powers
- I lost all my Dawnguard weapons and bolts (although Steams states that I have all dlc installed)
- in my inventory there is a bunch of weapons and items that I had stored in my Breezehome for a loong time

Can anyone help me please? The game is unplayable at it's current state, and I really have NO idea what went wrong and what to do to repair it.

I already trie dto uninstall and install again a few times - didn't help.

Thank you

(I can't really remember the modes I downloaded, though it was something that enhances night sky and sun, a mod that makes shops appear better with more stocked items, some new armors and CBBE models I believe.)

Unless you researched on the correct way to implement mods you can corrupt your savefile. While some mods may be perfectly fine to keep going, others will still have scripts running and the game will crash when they are missing files. I would entertain the idea of starting a new character.

Happened to me once, I feel for you. I had to re-install my game. And this is exactly the reason why I don't use mods (anymore, except for patches) in all my games.

Thanks!
Loadorder? Never heard about that. I'm not very well verst in such things, never had trouble with the game before.

Already reinstalled the game, didn't help :(

The problem is, there is still no run animation, even in level 1 character. This really brings me down, since it kinda destroys my RP experience and fun in the game.

you got the "this save file relies on content that is no longer present" error because you are continuing your save file that had a mod in it at one point after uninstalling the mod(s), and that is likely what is behind your issues..

After Uninstalling (or installing in some cases) a mod you should Always start a brand new character, because that save now has lingering residue (such as scripts) from the mods you had installed

WRT to your running animation problem, I'm assuming that at some point you installed a mod that requires Fore's New Idles in Skyrim (FNIS) and didn't run the FNIS generator tool when you uninstalled the mod.

Follow the http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11811/? to manually uninstall FNIS. You'll need to scroll most of the way down the linked page to the Manual Uninstall section. Delete the noted files and folders and see if that does not restore your animations.

Mods require a basic understanding of what they do. It is important to school yourself and invest the time in research to ensure as flawless of an installation as possible.

^This. Gopher has taught me so much. He features tons of great mods and then goes through the process of installing them. He does a good job of explaining the technical details (such as load order and compatibility) in an easy-to-understand way.

Unfortunately I don't have much advice on the animations and other glitches.

I'm no modding expert so anyone feel free to correct me. But a load order is just a list of the mods you have installed. When you first start Skyrim, and the box comes up (Play, Options, Data Files, Tech Support, Exit), click Data Files. That will show you your load order. The reason this is important is that mods add/alter/overwrite game files. Some mods won't work right if they get overwritten by certain other mods that alter the same files, which could cause bugs and instability. You can move the files around your load order to keep the mods playing nicely with each other. So when people ask for your load order, they are trying to see what you have installed, and if they were installed in an efficient way. Just list the files that are written in the Data Files (NMM also shows the load order if you have that installed.)

Modding takes some know-how with the way the game's files\folders are set up, and you kind of have to visualize what it is you are overwriting. It was confusing for me at first, but a little practice and you'll be flying.
