After reading the Playstation July Mag

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 7:30 pm

Please don't flame if this has all already been mentioned.
Just trying to share. :)

There are Birth signs but not like Oblivion.
There are large standing stones called Doom Stones by the Mag that let you choose your Birth sign.
You can only have one 'activated' at a time but you can switch out your Birth sign if you don't like what it does.
Birth signs impart skill boosts and special powers.

Dragons can pick up Giants. The Dragon mentioned actually picked up an already dead giant.

You CAN encounter more than 1 dragon. The mag mentions encountering two at the same time but had help from some Guards defeating them.
The first Dragon was killed by an NPC guard BUT the player still absorbed its soul and unlocked a new shout that helped to defeat the 2nd Dragon.

Some shouts mentioned are Whirlwind Sprint, Ice Form, Slow Time and Unrelenting Force and Storm Call.

When the player used Storm Call at the highest level it still didn't kill the 2nd Dragon. It was an area attack that damaged everyone unlucky enough to be caught in it. Poor Guards.

There are Foxes in the game that hunt rabbits in the game.

Horses can Sprint.

Wind blows dynamically generated snow.

Clothing is simplified with clothing and armor coming is single suits and not separate pieces.
THIS IS APPARENTLY WRONG INFO REPORTED BY PSM ACCORDING TO PETE. SEE BELOW POSTS.

That's it for now.
There are other threads that mention about the different ores and Meats, etc already so I wont re post all of that.

Hope you enjoy.

The mag is a great read and the Screenshots are AMAZING. Get this mag if you can. You won't be disappointed.

.

Ok...... Ive been supportive of everything Ive heard thus far... but this is just disconcerting

WOW

I repeat... WOW. Absolutely TERRIBLE NEWS. Anyone that has seen me post knows Im not partial to the whole "oversimplification" argument, but I have no idea what else to call this. Fallout was fun - but it was FAR more simple than Oblivion and that is partly why I favored the latter.

(so this information was wrong?)

Everyting sounds interesting, thanks for sharing. I'm wondering about the armour tho, Pete Hines said a few hours ago:

Guys, armor question is in the fan interview. As I said, it's not Fallout 3, one piece. Beyond that, stay tuned.

Speaking of the part where guards help you take down one of the dragons, it'd be cool if NPC's reacted to you absorbing a dragon's soul. Seems like that'd be something ya don't see every day, even in a world of magic, but I don't know. :lightbulb:

This. Really hope an otherwise fine OP doesn't turn into another armor freakout thread. Separate pieces are confirmed. The mag is talking about the armor being displayed in inventory - at least that's what I've heard.

I want extremely complicated, multifaceted, layerable, totally customizable clothing! Ugh, WHY WITH THE SIMPLIFICATION! Just let me wear boots, pants, greaves, shirt, cuirass, belt, individual gloves/bracers, amulet, two rings, hat, and robe to go over the top!

Me too....Thank God!

Okay. Lets move to more important things

I like the idea of Dragons picking things up,and i do remember in the trailer that it picks YOU up.
But that adds the question...will the Dragons be throwing boulders and crap at you?

My question is 'ok it picked it up, then what'?

Did it use it as a weapon?

Did it eat it?
