Aftermath

In Oblivion, we learn that the whole of Tamriel is under attack by Daedric forces (whether Akavir, Atmora, Yokuda etc are or not is unknown). Morrowind is hit particularly hard, with Vivec being 'taken by the Daedra', Telvanni wizards struggling to close the gates and the entire city of Ald'ruhn destroyed, despite waking Skar. We learn that Skyrim isn't doing much better, with the 'old reaches' (or was it marches...difficult to remember the Oblivion rumours) under siege.

So, in Skyrim would you like to see a landscape scarred by smouldering Oblivion gates, surviving Daedra roaming the frozen mountains and forests? Towns being rebuilt, relatives still mourning, heroes still venerated?

How much of the Oblivion aftermath should be seen in Skyrim?

There's a rumor from a possible leak that it'll take place 200 after TES IV.

I don't know, it might have been restored by the time,.if it truly is set 200 years after the crisis like that description of the book. But it's definately possible.

I don't think they would make it that long after IV. There would be so much more lore to add to the current story, like what happened in the 200 years proir to Skyrim. What of the Septim Dynasty since Martin was the last one, and he is now a saint (or so it would make sense for him to become one).

Depends on the the timeframe. If it's 200 years afterward like the rumors say, then we couldn't really expect more than some remnants of Oblivion gates and the occasional piece of Daedric architecture. If it's more recent, then wandering Daedra are more likely. (But they'd all be banished eventually)

i am overly-curious as well but we should probably just wait for the GI info before stabbing into the dark.
