I'm trying to do the Aftershock quest for the College of Winterhold. When I arrive at the location of the "rupture" there is nothing there. What is wrong?

IIRC this part of the quest requires you to kill 10 spectral anomolies (or similar name) that appear out of the rift. You need to talk to the Faralda who is standing on the walkway entrance gates to the college so that it can proceed properly.

That's wrong. "Aftershock" is a radiant quest you get from the old guy at the college. It's not the same one where you kill the anomlies in Winterhold which is part of the main College quests.
You do fight the same kind of anomolies though. But only 3 of them.

Anyway, look closely in the area. You should be looking for a roundish, greenish, blue cloud (looks almost like the spells look in your hand). Walk up to it and it will kind of explade into three anomolies. Kill them and then return to the college. And by the way, The Staff of Magnus doesn't do squat against them regardless of what the old man tells you when giving you the quest. You're better off using your normal weapon.

I think the anomoly spawned underground because i can see its like aura but cant hit it
