Age of Decadence

Since I haven't updated in a long while, and Povu reminded me...

AoD http://www.irontowerstudio.com/forum/index.php/topic,1596.0.html. One of the text adventures during the game, which incorporates your skills. I love that there are LOADS of ways on how you can proceed. I encourage you to go through the thread (you only need to read the posts with a screenshot attached).

A new interview with developer Brian Mitsoda (who worked on dialogue for Vampire the Masquarade: Bloodlines) for their upcoming Zombie Survival RPG, 'ZRPG'. On a Fallout site, it seems. Maybe because he used to work at Obsidian? Or because of the post-apoc theme? Ah, who cares.

http://www.trzynasty-schron.net/dzial,wywiad_mitsoda_en.htm

As a world, we're tightly intertwined by the internet and transportation and international law, but what happens we're suddenly cut off and have to deal with one another on a very small scale, without the promise of aid rolling in within a few days? That, more than OH NO ZOMBIES, is the driving design of the game.

Yes, you can expect a lot of screenshots and other stuff very soon. You will definitely see the internet equivalent of a signal flare on that day.

Post, BGSF. Post!

Once the new screenshots arrive this thing's getting its own thread. :P

Cool. Kinda reminds me of a medieval version of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2

I think we can better separate the AoD and ZRPG Dead State news now so I made a separate Dead State thread http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1112607-dead-state/page__p__16320572__fromsearch__1&#entry16320572. :)

I think I'm going with an Assassin character for my first playthrough, kicking stealthy ass in the text adventures hopefully. :D

What about everyone else? Everyone else being Tesfanner. :P

I had a look at the screenshots, the game sure has come a long way graphically.

Next time I'll write the thread title in caps lock. <_<

I wasn't aware of AoD till after they made the switch to the 3D engine. Oscar has really made the best out of it!

I've been determined to play a blunt axe-wielding savage for ages. Even if it's a long way to Thursday the odds of me changing my mind are null.

It's been pretty quiet on ITS' front for some time now, not really that surprising that you won't see much fuss about it outside its forums.

Well, I replayed the combat demo a few times, and had more fun than previous attempts. The writing is a little meh, but whatever, it is only a combat demo. Hopefully the main game will have better dialouge.

And, personally, I think this point right here is where they should stop in the graphics department. It just works well. I don't know if they're planning future updates for the graphics, but doing that over and over...

They're not. They only upgraded once.

What don't you like about the writing? I like it a lot, except for the curses, but Vince won't change them, ever. He explains why, and he won't budge.

The text at the bottom left. Especially the first part: "He's sitting on his knees near the door, the spear in his chest keeps him from falling down."

No, no, no. The description writing is quite good. It reads like a good DM describing a scene. That's good. I don't like the dialouge. It reads in a very wooden way, and like you said, the curses are kind of annoying. I suppose if the creator has a good reason for them being there, I can get past it, but....I 'unno.

Oh right. I haven't read that much dialogue to be honest, since I usually read the descriptions in the screenshots or follow the LP threads (and they're also 99% descriptions).

I'm actually more interested in Dead State than AoD now. :P

But AoD is still going to be awesome.

Scars of War too, shame there hasn't been much news lately. I'd love to hear more about it. I just subscribed to the Blog of War. Even though most recent entries are not related to SoW, it's nice to hear something.

The graphics look much better than what we've seen in the combat demo. :)

Holy crap that's awesome!

It looks so good. All it needs is antialiasing enabled (like I did with the combat demo). B)

Indeed. It's turning out to look much better than I had expected it would. Which also makes me excited about Dead State. I wish I had a copy of that PC Gamer US issue #209, apparently it has a Dead State interview in it with new gameplay info and new screenshots... The only new screenshot on the forum is one of a kitchen knife and a baseball bat. :P

No demo yet. ;)

Also if someone else would post this wouldn't look so much like spam. 4 posts in a row over a period of 4 months, sheesh. :P

I like the new animations.

Well, there's not much more to say, really. Still adore the concept, still waiting for a new demo or even *gasp* a release date. ^_^
