Yeah I had always assumed stamina was for rogue types. Because they were obviously going for:
Warrior, Health, Red
Mage, Magic, Blue
Thief, Stamina, Green
The sneak skill already manages and grants specific abilities for a rogue. And Agility in previous TES games only ever increased stamina and not much else (besides effecting the skills the attribute governed, and one unique aspect of it was that it granted less chance of staggering for the player). In fact, the attributes of previous TES games have only ever increased health, magic, and stamina as well (besides Personality, Speed and Luck); they were just separated specifically. In Skyrim, they decided to just bunch them up now.
I mean, unless they consider bringing back attributes such as Personality or Speed that actually effected movement and interaction with NPCs, the two things a rogue would specialize in. However, the attributes in Skyrim have turned into only having an effect on the three derived attributes (health, magic, stamina), unfortunately.
