Ahh!

M'aiq welcomes you to the "Ahh!" thread!

M'aiq wonders.. What is the most scariest place(s) you have ever been too in Skyrim?

M'aiq is terrified of the Abandoned House in Markarth, Darkfall Cave, and Shimmermist Cave. It is much more worser (excluding Darkfall Cave, since M'aiq doesn't have Dawnguard on PC) to have a Darkness mod. :shakehead:

M'aiq is kind of terrified of Frostflow Lighthouse, but he is use to the noise of what the Chaurus makes.

WHAT DOES THE CHAURUS SAY?

RING-DING-DING-DING-DING!

The things that scare me the most in Skyrim are suddenly getting attacked by some random creature and not realizing it until half my health bar is gone. Those sabre cats can give you a heart attack!

This reminds M'aiq of Fallout New Vegas's Boone's surprise killcam and scares the crap out of you. :P

I always turned those killcams off, since it seemed more realistic to not have a out of body experience everytime I finish a fight :P.

Skyrim's killcams are a bit different, with the third person ones just zooming to just slightly above your character. I actually really liked the animations, I just wish that both me and the enemies werent such cheats in using them.

As unspoilerishly as possible...

Apocrypha creeps me out. I've only been there a few times, and I haven't figured out a good way of killing the seekers and those horrible lurker thingies, which doesn't help, so I mostly just stumble around in a blind panic. I did get to the end of the Winds of Change BB one once, but usually I fail miserably. *sigh*

That Lighthouse Near Dawnstar. Sad and creepy. Also ARGH THE THINGS!

The ashy bits of Solstheim because THOSE THINGS! ARGH!

Pretty much anything with jump scares, purely because my startle reflex is ludicrous (seriously, I went out my front door this morning and a man was walking past at close range and I jumped out of my skin. *smooth*)

The scariest place... was probaly the abandoned house in Markarth.

And it was scary like a cheap, old, horror film.(Horror films; I often find hilarous)

Hmm..Ice wraiths sneaking up on me while I'M sneaking. I've been killed twice because I didn't know one was right behind me...

Also, Rorikstead. Something just..doesn't seem right about it...Like that town in FO3 where the ppl are super friendly and wanna eat you.

I've never been surprised by a sabre cat, but those damn bears sure are stealthy at times. ;)

The thing that still amazes me is how I got suprised by a cliffracer over in Morrowind a few days ago. Those bastards usually skree like crazy, but one of them managed to sneak up and whack me in the back while I was practicing my swordsmanship on a rat. It gave me quite a jump. :P

IMO Sightless Pit is the scariest place in the Game.

The scariest moment in the Game was at the Talos Shrine near Helgen, when a Rabbit suicided into the offering bowl, and the Gold became shotshells hitting My character. It was noisy, unexpected, and My fully healthy Dragonborn was down to a few points of Health. Rabbit Screaming is too realistic.

This. The town reminds me of Hackdirt in Oblivion, where a seemingly normal town that have its people worshiping "The Deep Ones".

Rorikstead has sketchy history as well. Rorik says the town is named after him, yet there are mentions of the name Rorikstead in some old documents that ages back to the time of the Dragons, as well as the song "Ragnar the Red". Some facts might even out the theory Rorikstead was abandoned for unknown reason at one point.

But then there's Rorik himself. He said he once commanded men during the Great War, was stabbed through the chest and somehow was healed by Jouane Manette, and they became best friends ever since. I don't buy this, and I think some thing went down during the Great War that happened to Rorik's entire unit... But more likely, I think that "Rorik" is actually a fake name that "Rorik" took up to change his identity after feel guilty for the deaths of his men during the war.

On another note, when Rorik talks to Jouane, he makes a passing comments on "some other force at work" that gave Rorikstead the best farm land in the Whiterun hold. And there's that little girl Sissel. I overheard Jouane talking to her not to let the village know their "secrets" as he teaches her magic. Sissel also has dreams about Paarthunax when Alduin returns. The village is at close-proximity to a Shrine of Akatosh.

My theory about Rorikstead is that it used to be a Dragon-worshipping place during the Dragon War, which power saved "Rorik" during the Great War by sacrificing his men as well as giving the village good farmland. Also, I suspect that Sissel might be Dragonborn. But that doesn't explain Rorik and Jouane's clueless conversation, unless they both had their memories erased to fit into a new life by a malevolent force under Rorikstead that is slowly recovering its strength.

Dwarven ruins can be frightening. Especially dwarven spheres :(. There faces are really creepy and the way they come at you relentlessly with that cold blank stare. To make matters worse my first ever character was a pure frost mage. Yeah, Mzulft was NOT fun.

M'aiq knows that feeling. He is terrified of Oblivion dungeons. He tries his extreme hardest not to go in any Oblivion unless he absolutely has too.

Frostflow Lighthouse, The abandoned house in Markarth and Florehost if the tiny mummies plus notes aren't creepy, then I don't know what is.

Slaughter fish, for some reason they just don't stay in the water. http://i1254.photobucket.com/albums/hh611/Trace9569/20140314_121010-1.jpg?t=1395538239

The Aylied ruins, and the Wraiths, Headless Zombies and Lichs, that's not even counting the stuff from the SI expansion. I still can't get the Wraith shriek out of my head :dead: I wish Skyrim had more creepy monsters...

Valthume was kinda creepy for me, especially the trapped treasure box which if you trigger releases a giant spider from the ceiling, which slowly dangles down right in front of your vision... :ahhh:

Apocrypha, The Sallow Regent.

Castle Volkihar.

The Abandoned House.

The Soul Cairn *even though it was a bit... empty and barren* was still creepy due to the trapped souls wandering the place, and the constant feeling of something watching you.

Frostflow Lighthouse, Habd's remains always creep me out, as well as the atmosphere/mini story.

It may sound odd, but i find Blackreach to creep me out as well...
