I Ain't No Pack Mule!

Hey Guys,

I've just started playing Daggerfall but I couldn't help but notice that, even when I store everything my Nord has on him in my wagon, he still has like 50 "Encumbrance" on him. Does anybody know where that comes from? Thanks in advance,

Delyn.

Gold Pieces have weight in Daggerfall. You likely have a good amount of gold on you right now. You will need to go to a bank, deposit your money, and then transfer it to letters of credit.

One thing to keep in mind with letters of credit is that inns will only take gold. So always make sure you have a little gold on you at all times.

and by the NINE!! DO NOT FORGET WHERE YOU PUT YOUR MONEY!!! A bank in Daggerfall of Daggerfall (where a certain unhappy former king resides) is hard to forget. ;)

I have around 50K (not much, i know) in my bank, and carry around about 5K for expenses at all times.

I've only needed letters of credit if I had to buy/pay something big.

Merchants give you free letters of credits if you're too encumbered to take their gold. So, manage to be overencumbered whenever you sell stuff for a lot of gold, and there you go.

I believe you mean, by The Eight. :)

Anyway, I always carry around 5k, the rest goes into the bank. I bring all of it with me via letter of credit when going to another kingdom. Oh, and since the bank systems are kingdom-based, it doesn't matter which "Bank of Daggerfall" in Daggerfall you visit, you can withdraw your deposit from any other "Bank of Daggerfall". Gee, I kind of wish Bethesda named the banks more uniquely, just to annoy us.
