M'aiq is a classic. He needs to be in TES V.

No, lets move on to new things

This, im positive Beth can make equally amusing characters, they always have.

Fargoth came back as Glarthir, the scamp murchant came back as a mudcrab murchant..

M'aiq will be replaced with someone else who we will see similarities with imo.

He should be inducted into the Greybeards. :) or we could go to sleep one night to wake up to a message saying "He finally found that stick made of fishies, and as he promised, he has given it to you." and there will be a Fishy Stick (a weapon) on your bed!

I suppose it'd be cool if he came back as a wise, old Khajiit living his final years in Skyrim.
That being said, I'm not sure of how far away Skyrim is from Oblivion in terms of years. Anyone know?

The trailer made it sound like it's going to take place not long after the Oblivion crisis, but it is too vague to be sure.

Only if he is stationary and not roaming and the source of so many ctds as in Oblivion.

Well then, I guess some modder might have to change that.

the scap and mudcrab merchant are both in morrowind

i honestly hope m'aiq makes it back in as an easter egg or with a quest attached. Maybe atleast a grave for him so we can pay our respects to our heros

about 200 years if what most people say is correct

Knowing that this has been the theory, he will not.

I'd love to see him, though he'd probably be dead by the time the game takes place unless it's right after the books. Even then, they could have volumes of books that M`aiq published to find all over Skyrim.

Knowing the humor behind the character, I highly doubt that M'aiq is dead. I'd be surprised if he's even old. Odds are that Bethesda will make him immortal for giggles.

He allows us to laugh at ourselves and we should all be able to do that lest we get old and grumpy too soon. Laughter is good for the soul.

If M'aiq is dead they can make a ghost of him =)

Anyway I think he should be in Skyrim. I can already imagine him fishing in some cold lake way way far out in the wild.

M′aiq is too cool to die. Maybe... Just maybe... He is a Daedra? Since Daedra are immortal, M′aiq is immortal! Or atleast always returns after a while after you have killed him... Like Daedra do.

Who knows? Maybe he'll turn out to be the Daedric Prince of Genre Savviness and Medium Awareness.

I'd be happy with an Easter Egg reference to M'aiq, myself. No need for the man himself to be in the game again.

I don't know if I posted it in this thread or a previous m'aiq thread (as he seems to be quite a hot topic), but I too would love for him to return the way jiub did
he could become a politician or something

Never, ever, dis M'aiq and his random tidbits of information.
He actually gave out (occasionally) useful info in Morrowind. I believe he told the player the location of one or two Daedric shrines that were never otherwise revealed in the game. In Oblivion he was just sorta there for the sake of being there, though.

I think he should return with an easter egg. Maybe he'll give you the location of a super-secret lair of a cat-based cult :D

Hell, if he can run from Anvil to Leyawiin in less than a day, he could jump over the Jeralls and end up in Solitude by dinner time.

I voted no, quit holding on to the past people. Let this game have new characters and places to love.

ok, yeah, sure... lets just forget all about easter eggs, in-jokes, and all the fun, unique stuff that makes TES special...

does that sound good to you?

...forget you people, i'd LOVE to see m'aiq come back and spew more outrageous lies, i mean, thats all part of the fun of TES... finding easter eggs and great people like m'aiq who appeared in previous games

next thing you're gonna say is to forget all about the daedra, aedra, and all the stuff that makes up the lore of TES, i suppose?

Yea m'aiq, Should reveal you to some Khajjit cult or he should be a Deadra Prince, I always thought he was one. He just doesn't look like a regular Khajjit. I'm sure he is a deadra prince.

Had a thought on M'aiq -- perhaps there's more than one. Considering how much Kahjit philosophy relies on the absurd, perhaps M'aiq the Liar is actually a religious title. Sort of like a shaman, whose job is to lie to make you think about the nature of truth.

I've got to cut back on the Lore Board.
