[REL] Ajira's Alchemy Reports

Ajira's Alchemy Reports

This is the first mod I released The idea occurred to me as I was recently replaying Morrowind. It's just a simple change to two scrolls, but I thought it was reasonable and useful and other people might like it, so I used this mod as a way to learn how to go through the entire release process.

Description

It seems to me that after having Ajira explain how to find certain mushrooms and flowers, then wandering around and finding and collecting them, and then reading both of her somewhat detailed reports, you should have learned at least a little about alchemy. Now you will! Each report, when read, gives you one point of Alchemy skill.

I remember that mod! Brilliant idea, and I downloaded it when it first appeared on PES. :)

:thinks: You know, alchemists, magicians, scholars, and others... it makes sense that they make their own reports and have fields notes... If you are ever wanting for mod ideas, here's one: adding field journals, research notes, official communiqués, and even trivial letters, to the world in general - to apothecaries about how to cure common illnesses, to government officials, to merchants contacting their suppliers, to far-flung family members trying to keep in touch.

It'd be a bit of an undertaking to get inside each character's head and researching their profession, etc. Maybe build off the background and personalities that LGNPC added? Just a thought. :bonk:

I like that idea a lot. I'll add it to my list. You'll never guess what I thought of yesterday, but I don't want to say anything in public coz it'll spoil the surprise. I think I have enough ideas now to keep me busy for a year! :D

Great idea! :goodjob:
I've added this to my mods folder for the next time I play a mage, ty

Another document that would make sense if given a similar bonus is Auraane Frenis' Alchemical Formulae which you steal for a House Hlaalu quest

Thanks for the idea, Amazon Queen. I added it to my list.

There are so many things in this game I've never seen because I usually play as a Redoran. I played part of Hlaalu once, but Crassius Curio in Vivec creeped me out. :D

That and a few others were handled by my alchemist formulae mod. Which is a perfect companion to this mod

Nice job on the RELz, and one which I will keep in my game.
Surprised no one thought of it before!

Thanks, all! I, too, am surprised nobody else thought of this before (and that it took me so long to think of it). :)

Good idea. Itermerel's Notes (for Mysticism) would be another plausible candidate for this treatment.
