Akavir, Atmora, Pyandonea, Aldmeris, or Thras.

Akavir, Atmora, Pyandonea, Aldmeris, or Thras. Which would you rather know more about? Which would you like Bethesda to write more Lore about during their next game or DLC (adding books about the continent etc).

I would personally like more on Akavir,

A small portion of Akavir would make most sense as a DLC for this game, but I most want to see Atmora.

I wouldn't mind a trip to Ionith to see if the Tsaesci left what was left of the Empire's "colony" so many years ago. But that's as far as Akaviir as I'd like to go. I would definitely like more lore about Pyandonea and the Moamer. So far, all we know about them is that they are a chameleon elf race that hates the Altimer with a passion and have special magical abilities. They also control sea snakes.

None of them. I like the idea of mysterious distant lands, from which anything can come. I'd rather they leave it that way, and keep the focus squarely on Tamriel.

That's what keeps bothering me. I hate not knowing what's out there.

I generally subscribe to the same thing. Discovery is my bread and butter. But whereas i am likely to be dead and gone long before Science finds the secrets of the universe, too much descovery mutes the ability to further expand on a story. Take Warcraft for instance. The act of discovering new lands and people died with WoW. In Warcraft 1, 2 and 3 you could find strange creatures lurking in the woods and be lie "WTF is that thing?". With WoW, they opened the whole world. Suddenly you could see everything, right down the some little shanty with a crazy necromancer in the woods. The thrill of descovery wore off quickly, and has never really been recpatured. Then they have to go and Retcon things to try to rebuild it, like Pandaria being a whole contenant rather than a secluded nation in Kalimdor.

Retcon's are bad. I would rather not know, then have to deal with what i know changing because they railroaded themselves into a corner.

Atmora would be an easy choice for DLC, I would think. Perhaps too easy: the obvious form for it to take is that of a frozen wasteland dotted with ancient Nord ruins infested with undead, which not be quite enough of a contrast with Skyrim. My impression is that Atmora gradually became uninhabitable, possibly because it froze over -- do we know any more than that?

Akavir seems like it would be the most interesting -- too much so for just a DLC. I'd rather see it as the setting of an entire Elder Scrolls episode.

The only mention I recall of Pyanodonea was in The Wolf Queen, when Queen Potema met with the Pyandonean ambassador. It seems like the place we know least about.

I could see Akaviri becoming a little more relevant if they caught wind that dragons are back and there is a dragonborn running around.

Yokuda.

What's left of it, anyways. I would prefer to got to Akavir, mainly because I know what I'll see in Atmora: Skyrim with less (or no) people, more snow, and taller mountains. Might like to hunt some sloads in Thras...maybe find a way to harden their slimy bodies into a strong chitin for bonemold-esque armor?

Atmora and Aldmeris are impossible. The former is the boat of Sovngarde sailed down temporal waters and the latter is the last kalpa.

I'd like to see it featured as an expansion for a game set in the Aldmeri Dominion (Summerset Isles & Valenwood)

Interesting I've read those before, must've overlooked that... But how did Mortal life get to Atmora, Akavir, Yokuda etc?

All the TES literature that I've been exposed suggest that everybody (maybe except the Elves) eventually came to Tamriel.

Everyone starts out on Tamriel, which is actually one big ur-continent, during the Dawn (http://imperial-library.info/content/annotated-anuad makes this clear). Then, Aldmeris-Tamriel is split by war and ideological division, and some of the races end up on different continents. They then start to return to Tamriel again.

Do we know which of these accounts are more "accurate" for the creation of Nirn? Or is the Annotated Anuad a more symbolic representation of the same "events"?

Edit: Mainly talking about Lorkhan/Magnus/Akatosh's implication on Nirn

OOps. I just read this:

The two main books describing the Dawn Era are:
  • http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:The_Monomyth — an overview of creation myths in various cultures
  • http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:The_Annotated_Anuad — a more allegorical and simplified version of the events

Thanks for the info

That would be the best use of jiggle physics and dynamic lighting ever. Forget mammaries, give me obese slug-people and romantic meetings with them on moon-lit walks and candle-lit dinners!
