[RELz] Alakazar's Lamp

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 9:05 am

Oh yea! I love getting http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/beergeek_2027_9562980 for xmas! :celebrate: :dancing:

Heh. I actually sent those to my brother-in-laws last year for X-Mas. Kind of an ongoing yearly joke between us. I even put them in nice white "wine bottle" boxes with a homemade little label that said to the effect "For when a small piece of coal doesn't begin to describe how naughty you've been this year." He sent me a pipe bomb. :biglaugh: Kidding. It looked like a pipe bomb. It was actually something inside a piece of pvc with two caps that looked like a pipe bomb.

Back on subject: So, when do you think you will have the final, final version completed, Westly? Assuming you go through with your plans to add the map room, etc?

I rather mean to be able to return to where you were transported from when rubbing the lamp (i.e. if entering the lamp in Balmora Mages Guild - a means to return to the same position in the Mages Guild from within the lamp so to speak). I just thought that rubbing the lamp again would return the PC to his/her original position.

The logistics of such blow my mind, ATM (would not know where to begin trying to figure out how to do that, save if the chracter were forced to cast a "mark" spell and then turning the Hourglass would auto cast recall  ).

Wow! I downloaded this yesterday. Very nice job, Westly. You've done a spectacular amount of work with this, and its beautiful. :goodjob: Why, I'll bet that a man with your talents and dedication could take all of the stuff for Eldanorcara and have it finished by X-Mas, right? :lmao: No, seriously, when are you going to stop goofing around with your own stuff and come help finish a mod that's been in semi-production for longer than you worked on this? Sheesh. Its always about you, you, you. :hehe: Kidding, of course. Congratulations on a job well done. What you've done here is a heck of a nice X-Mas present for the modding community. Which is a good thing, because Santa already told me I'm getting a lump of coal from him.

Oh, Skinjack, the legend of Eldanorcara is too great a burden to bear for me (were I to take it up and bear its weight, I would surely have it destroyed in the fires of Red Mountain ;) ). Seriously, though, if and when I catch a break, adding finishing touches to the mod might be in my power, just not right now :) .

EDIT: There is already a Map Room (what I would add would be a recall ring, so one does not necessarily have to go through the store everytime they want to enter the lamp; a "genie of the ring" if you will :) ).

Well, this is beyond phenomenal. Westly, I just cannot thank you enough for all that you contribute to our community. Your time, effort, blood, sweat and tears are completely appreciated. I am finally going to create a fully functioning Morrowind install after months of being without. Cheers! :D

it's a little feminine in the male department (why'd you give the men tube tops for the summoner armor again?) but very nice for the females

i'm assuming this elseworlds is set in a middle eastern influenced universe, like arabian nights or aladdin or something (feel free anyone to correct me)

So that they can wear the Chainmaille underclothes that I included in the mod; this way, the maille is visible in the "uncovered" parts of the armor :) .

And no, ELSEWORLDS! is not just set in an Arabian Nights inspired world, but all of the realms of my imagining :D.

A lot of Arabian stuff is in there to compliment the M'Harjaans (such as my character :D) I'm guessing. Speaking of which, thanks for the beautiful M'Harjaan clothing, Westly; they look great on my character, Toran. :D

Indeed, as many of the items were made to be featured in another mod, but that mod was stopped due to the author moving onward, so the M'Harjaan gear needed to be available in some fashion :) . Thus, I included them in this mod ;) .

I would also like to add to my ongoing struggle with the choices I have made for the looks of the gear herein vs. any who have opposition with said choices (repeating myself here for the most part):

I have explained this before in the past, and get tired of explaining it, but here goes again; Why should only the females show skin, but not the males? Why should (in my designs) the female have less fabric than the males just to prove "masculine derivation" for the latter? Where is the balance in design if I were to do this (make one item more revealing than its counterpart)? Also, there are skin artists (like myself) that worked very hard on the body skins, so why not have a way to showcase them regardless of the six of the character? I design the way I do inorder to demonstrate a correlation between the male and female without the items looking like they were designed by different authors (or armor makers in the game world). What is good for the goose is also good for the gander, and as an equal opprtunity modder, one should be happy that I accomodated both/either sixes at all :) . I can't please everyone, I suppose, so to those that will use my mod I hope will enjoy what they find; to those that do not use it or only have peanut gallery comments, I hope at least you enjoy the screens and appreciate the work that went into this mod. Forgive me if I tried to get creative with the line/cut/ and sillouhettes of the armors/clothes for both sixes (regardless I seek to do my best and appease my ever increasing standards of balance and quality). (I would also like to throw in that not all mod users are male)

Take Care, All

And also, it's silly when you defeat a female enemy wearing an armor made of a length of ribbon and two pasties, and as soon as your manly hands loot the flimsy outfit from her still-warm corpse, it magically transforms into a full-plate metal armor that looks like it weight two tons.

Precisely :D

It is all about balance (and at the very least the Chainmalle option that I included should allow for more diversity in roleplaying; say, for example, one decides to go swimming, they might take off their chainmaille to keep it from "rusting", or perhaps enchanting only the maille so that it can be worn with any armor set, or perhaps one just likes their character to be a free spirit and show a little skin - nothing wrong with that, nope, nope, nope :) ).

Personally, it's kind of cool allowing my male character to show some skin. My character, again, is M'Harjaan and therefore probably comes from a very warm place. And in the event you haven't noticed, the amount of clothing worn is in inverse proportion to the temperature. ;) So it makes sense that my character from a warm climate would be accustomed to wearing lighter armor with less cloth.

An excellent disposition Westly and one I heartily endorse.
However, I think you will have to constantly reiterate this. Some people are beyond convincing and of course a version of better bodies was made just for the most adamantly opposed to male characters looking 'sixy'!

Nope, it just wants you to turn it (a as it gets ever so tired of just sitting in one place all the time :) ).

Originally, the Lamp was stationary before I decided to make it portable (and the Hourglass was the "out" door). Now, it is just a novelty 'til I can work out a nifty use for it beyond its rotating in place ;) ).

This is beautiful, I guess wings are not by my likings but this mod pretty much has everything for every taste.
Soul Hunter and Sylvan Shaman sets are really great!

Just little more and 3-4 mods of you will be all that is needed to have the most beautiful PCs (and NPCs) ever!

I haven't tried this out yet even though I dl'd it as soon as I saw that it was available, however, I have comment because the screenies look great and Westly's work (even if it isn't always my style) is incredible. Congrats on the release, thanks for sharing, and I look forward to installing and using this mod. :goodjob:

I am thoroughly enjoying the armors and outfits in this mod, Westly. Yet another marvelous offering. :D

And on behalf of my youngest brother, thank you for Cloud Strife's outfit. SOLDIER in my Morrowind. <3

Hello, I'd wish to join all those hymns of praise, but I have a little problem using the german version of Morrowind:
As the cell-names are different in both versions, the lamp simply does not appear, where it should do.
And for a reason I don't know, the CS does not open the ESP. So I'd like to know, if there is a console-command to reach the "lamp world".
Can someone help me, please?

coc "Alakazar's Lamp"

That doesn't work :brokencomputer:

I don't know why, but the COC Cheat does not work, when location names are not "one word"-ones. Is there any other way to enter other worldspaces?

You did place the location in quotes, right?
