I don't think it needs to be confirmed. But it's ridiculous and idiotic that his voice is only heard in a trailer. HM. Where else could they put the protagonist's voice besides a trailer?....HMMMM.

I do wish we could have heard his voice more, often too many games make their protagonist too silent or talk too much, Psycho was a great medium

That's not Alcatraz's voice, that's just someone doing a voice-over in the 1st person. Once you get to the end it makes sense that Alcatraz doesn't speak in the game.

SPOILERS SPOILERS AHEAD SPOILERS SPOILERS

In the trailers it's just a voice-over guy speaking from the viewpoint of the protagonist. There's no reason to think that he is a character in the game. As for the game my take is this - Prophet used the suit long enough that his thought patterns and memories etc became intrinsically combined with the suit. Alcatraz was a marine who was practically brain dead when he was put into the suit by Prophet. Eventually the character of Prophet becomes a combination of the mind, body and technology held together by the Nanosuit.

In this trailer, is Alcatraz who speak. But at the past, he talk at the past.
This voice is the same at the end of the game when he say "They call me Prophet".

And it will be ridiculous to think it's a "Voice-over" speaking form the point-view of Alcatraz.
It's Alcatraz, that's all :)

Is it **** the same voice as Prophet at the end.

It's merely a voice-over artist - that is all!

If you listen to the trailer, Alcatraz mentions himself in first person, " They say the suit makes me more then a soldier." now, you hear prophets voice in the end and you can tell it is at a much different tone. if it was a voice-over artist, why would he talk about Alcatraz in the first person.

BOOK SPOILERS:

The voice is an evolving system. The suit is an generational archive which merges the mind of anyone who has worn it. At the beginning the voice is pc generated. Middle is Prophet and pc mix. By the end is prophet's pitch.

In the future the voice will most likely be a mix of both alcatraz's original voice and prophet's

Why is that not alcatraz's voice.

Alcatraz is the newest wearer so his interface is only physical and nothing else. The last wearer is being integrated into a full conciousness.

Alcatraz lungs do not work anymore, on top of having no working vocal cords.

his lungs do work, it only said they are damage in the single player, not destroyed, and you hear alcatraz breathing all the time, the suit only aides him in breathing, that voice is alcatraz, and the end voice is a combination of the 2, u seriously cant see that its a combination then u need your ears checktified.

EDIT: And stop trying to justify why he dosent speak, Its called a silent protagonist and its a very common thing, have you not heard of Gordan Freeman?!?! It allows the player to put a bit of their own personality into the game.

many of the games do feature silent proantagonists such as overlord and overlord 2. But what I'm talkinng about is in the trailer alcatraz talks about himself.

If you stop and read other threads you would've found the answers already.

he is a "dead man walking" for a reason.

Where do you think the suit got the "raw materials" to fill into his spine?. Where do you think the nanites got the "raw materials" to fix his bones?

Injuries:
One collapsed lung, the other filled with dry blood
Destroyed Vocal Cords
Near Destroyed Heart
Multiple projectile holes in his torso
Several Broken Ribs
Severe spinal injuries.

How does a "nano machine" replicates? out of nowhere? by magic?. it requires raw materials and energy. Energy comes from many sources the suit is built to acquire energy from. You dont see the nanits eating away the concrete beneath your feet or eating enemies to fuel itself, so how is it fixing your body without outside materials?

All the feelings he gets, all the sensations are fake. The suit is built to do that, the suit is built to make you feel absolutely normal no matter the injuries. Thats what makes the soldiers perfect, they will always remain calm collected and focus, because the suit will alter hormone levels no matter the situation and no matter whats missing in order to fool the brain into thinking everything is fine no matter what is happening around him.

HOw do you think the suit got the energy to "grow" into alcatraz's body? mass doesn't come out of magic.

SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!

-------------

The suit is eating away at minor organs and unsavageable organs in order to crete more nanities to fix whats inportant, as well as to extend Alcatra'z Central Nervous system.

Do you remember what the Suit is made after?, whose technology w as stolen from? Ceph got their nickname for a reason. The species they are based after have a nervous system which spreads to every corner of their bodies. The suit deep layers are simply immitating what they are suppose to. Immitatin cephalopods biology. Their species have no "central" nervous system like we do. Every limb they have has just as many connections as their main body. Hence their increased intelligence and control over even the smallest bits of their bodies.

By the time the Suit is done, little non essential organs will remain in Alcatraz's body.

it really sounds like you just made all of that up.

EDIT: And his vocal cords are fine, like i said, hes a silent protagonist, which does not need explaining.

He is a silent protagonist
His Vocal Cords are fine
The Trailer is Alcatraz speaking, anyone else speaking for him in the 1st person is retarded, Its like making a Half-Life film, Gordan may be a silent protagonist, but he would still talk in a film.
The End voice is Alcaphet, Its clear to hear that it is a combination of those 2 voices.

Point me where i am wrong and why u decided to make a wall of text of mostly what is your opinion.

His vocal cords aren't fine : /
Why else wouldn't he speak?
I know the whole "Fiction" part comes into it, but Crysis 2 aims to be serious and suspend disbelief. Basically, there needs to be a reason given.

Also, in the novel it's mentioned numerous times that he's trying to speak, but his injuries prevent him.
