Alchemy: No untility?

Post » Fri Mar 07, 2014 7:12 am

EDIT: damn it...*utility

So i dug deep into alchemy, and the effects of potions?

BORING!

its all very basic...regen this...extra power that...

where are the interesting potions?

invisibility?

how about potions to use on enemy players that turn them into a frog...or potions that poison your blades...

or makes you run faster, or swing faster...

you know? something interesting?

I hope is because I haven't got to do reagent picking in higher level zones....but it seems doubtful...

I'm not sure where you dug, and I'm no expert but I know at the very least there is an invisibility potion you can craft. The vampires on the pts use it to feed easily...

Do not underestimate the power of high level potion. These are the turnovers in some battles as sad as these affects might seem....

Sigh... I my point was that there are clearly other effects in the game that you hadn't come across yet.

I simply used that example as it was one I knew as fact.

I would imagine the potions we can make will be just about the same as with Skyrim and Oblivion right? And those potions made a HUGE difference! Not only that, you can sell them to merchants for serious bank! I will almost definitely have a high level alchemist.

Sorry mate, all my discussions with pts players have specifically been about vampires. I just wanted to impart what little info I had.

Have faith mate. Discovery is the best part about alchemy anyway ;-)

I want a potion that turns your enemies into a cheese wheel.

I'm a bit sad that all potions sell to npc's for just 1 gold no matter what, you sometimes mix some ingredients and get an awesome potion, but since the inventory doesn't allow it, you kinnda need to get rid of it, and it feels bad to sell it to an npc.

That is before you can get into a guild.

Main problem with potions is the consumeable select wheel, it makes it hopeless too have more than one active potion in combat.
This is that will make people use only restore health anyway.

The wheel should just use the item instead of then binding it to Q key

I want to pour poison to my weapon.

Or get a potion that will give me increased magic resistance.

Or one that will makes me run faster.

That would be nice.

Or make it random between cheese & crackers, so with any hope you can have both at the same time.

Yeah it's abysmal. You have to somehow find a relatively long safe moment to consume anything other than the default position.

This is my one major hangup with ESO (and Skyrim). The PC UI shares development with the console UI's, and suffers as a result.

speed potion is also in the game

in fact when you can combine 3 ingredients you can make a potion that makes you invisible and gives you a speed boost

well since with 2 ingredients you can make a potion that restores health and magicka i think i would use those over just health

with 3 ingredients you can make a potion that restores all 3 stats health/magicka/stamina

but yes i also hate the wheel, why cant i map the other positions of the wheel to other keys?

could this be fixxed with an UI add-on?

The very 1st potion I made was invisibility....and I have no idea how I made it. I just clicked on the few plants that I gathered & tadaaaa.

Of course, I used it straight away to see the effect..lol.

And yes, the selection of potions is a little less usefu than a button tap. But guess what, fortune favours the prepared.....so decide what you want to do & then do it. Otherwise, expect to rummage through your magical backpack to get the item you want.

Hopefully some modder will create a bar to put all consumables on instead of the wheel.

I rather have more spells and potions we had pre-skyrim.

-waterwalking

-waterbreathing

-jump (ring of the hoptoad was my 2nd favorite ring in Morrowind)

-icarus flight

-chameleon

My nightblade just wants some love potions to share with barmaids. Is that so wrong?
