Alchemy..Worth it?

Yeah, nirnroot isn't the easiest to find, but if one looks around the bodies of water, a few are sure to be found. There are two that spawn regularly near the water outside of Whiterun. Traveling at night in the swamp around Solitude will also provide a few. Also, Blackreach has some. The bridges in the Reach almost always have one somewhere under or near them. Buy them when you need them, but collect them when you can.

A shame those can't be planted. I'm sure there's a mod that changes this, but I'm on a mod-free diet. I'm trying to watch my Orcish figure.

Again, you're outstanding with your Alchemy, Ashley!!

The only thing I do differently in my ingredient list is I mix Vampire Dust with Chaurus Egg for my Invisibility potions. But then, I'm a Vampire that loves hunting Vampires. :D

 Great on the mod-free diet.

I am a sorceress who needs to keep her alchemy tower filled with ingredients. What can I say. One can also use luna moth wing and ice wraith teeth.

Actually, if you use Luna Moth Wing + Vampire Dust, you'll get a Regenerate Health effect as well as Invisibility.

Deathbell + River Betty = Slow + Damage Health

Canis Root + Imp Stool + Mora Tapinella (or Orange Dartwing or Slaughterfish Egg) = Paralyze + Lingering Damage Health

Imp Stool + Mora Tapinella + Nightshade or Imp Stool + Orange Dartwing + River Betty = Damage Health + Lingering Damage Health

There are so many great combinations.

There are indeed. I once mixed a pickpocket potion with a dartwing and slaughterfish eggs. Not paying any attention, I went into sneak mode, got into position, took the potion, pickpocketed the guy, and then my character fell over dead because of the slaughterfish eggs. They harm the taker.

In the regular game, alchemy is pretty useless. But I've modded my game to make leveling much, much harder and the money system 81 times as expansive (I get 9X less for goods and pay 9 times more for them). In the version of the game, alchemy becomes very useful for both making poisons and selling them for gold.

o_o

I think I know what Mod you're talking about. I'll stick with Frostfall, RND, and SkyRe. It's hard enough when the game is ACTIVELY trying to kill me to even think about what that kind of mod would do to my game.

Alchemy is a skill that I'm naturally inclined to use in all the games (If I don't consciously focus on certain skills, my characters tend to end up using alchemy, bows, (1H) swords, light armor and Restoration.) I think it's fun to mix ingredients and get results, and ingredients is one of the things that I'm hoarding (along with arrows, and in Morrowind: clothes). I like cooking IRL too.
