I don't really drink anymore. I used to drink a lot, then realise I had lost an entire day, sometimes two or three, to hangover and that the time I did spend drunk I regretted due to doing stupid or horrid things. I don't enjoy being drunk. So drinks now tend to be off-the-cuff occasions. I had a meal, a 10 course tasting menu, not long ago with a wine flight, so 8 glasses of wine. That was more than enough for me. Otherwise, maybe a beer (lager preferably, but ale is fine) once a month or so, on occasions possibly a port or cider. Sometimes I will have spirits, but less often than I used too. I enjoy whiskey. Neat, no ice. Like it is meant to be taken. It tastes wonderful but, honestly, for taste might as well have a glass of Dr Pepper or a mug of hot chocolate! I'd prefer a cup of tea over a pint of lager any day. When I do drink later, it tends to be non-alcoholic (I'm a fan of Becks Blue - similar to the real stuff but with none of the after-effects). I just feel no need to drink alcohol anymore, really.
