Aldmeri Dominion Altmer -- Can I Fight Against the Queen?

Post » Mon Mar 24, 2014 2:02 am

Are there any quests for AD Altmers where a character can actively undermine Queen Ayrenn, or do they all involve helping her?

None that I could find.

I don't think that there are any. If you do not like the Queen, join the Pact. They are trying to kill her.

Nah, no subterfuge or a double agent play style is in the game... unless it's from a Role Play point of view.

As an Altmer, the only way you can fight "against the queen" is to play in a different faction.

Bummer. My character concept is a Thalmor-type pro-Altmer who is not pleased with the Queen's direction. If I play for another faction then he's fighting against the Altmer, which he doesn't want to do.

From a roleplaye perspective you can always just be a pretender. To preserve your family status and wealth you just pretend to help her, while undermining her every decision in private. Try to convince other dominionites that this love and understanding course is only going to bring doom to your people.

What is funny to me is that the Aldmeri Dominion in this game are so much different than the ones in the Fourth Era, actually the Aldmeri Dominion in Skyrim is more like the Veiled Heritance... which is quite interesting if you played some of the quests in Auridon.

I was able to complete a key quest last night when the overflow server was tested... it was great. I can't wait for this game to go live so I can see how the rest is played out... like to see how this Aldermi Dominion turned into what we saw in Skyrim.

You could always just not do the questions that involve her directly.

Your character, your characters kids, your characters kids kids, will all be long dead.

Events in ESO have no impact on skyrim. :)

Well yes but it's just interesting I guess how similar the viewpoints are with Veiled Heritance and AD of the Fourth Era. I guess it's the creative side in me just drawing up my own story to how the two are somehow, in some way could be connected.

I see what you mean, and I am curious too. I am assuming that the Queen or her lineage end up being killed off and the Veiled Heritance takes over.

Edit: Also, it would be funny if the Veiled Heritance ends up doing that, since they have an agreement with the Pact. I mean, if the Thalmor of ESO:V actually were the result of the Pact's effort to murder Ayrenn, it would be deliciously ironic.

You can see the direction the Queen is taking will eventually ruin the very people you love.. Therefore you take up arms with your enemy which will in the short term put you against the people you love , yet long term save your people from a evil twisted fate..

Kinda sounds like the southern man that joined the northern armies to fight in the US Civil war.. Brother vs brother , but for the greater good.

Come fight for Ebonheart! :icecream:

True, we have no love for Altmer, but we won't stop you from risking your life to help further our cause :D

On a more serious note, I understand the feeling. RPG implies role-playing as an option, but often the in-game quests force you into a very specific direction.

I doubt we will see the death of the queen or the rise of the veiled heritance in this game. I can hope but i doubt it unless they kill the queen off.
