Al-do-een is how I say it (which is based off the pre-trailer chanting at the VGAs, which is identifiable as the second stanza of the translated text on the back of GI's cover.)

If it was spelled Aldeuin it would be pronounced Al-de-yoo-in

Lol. I've always pronounced it Al-doo-in

I say "all-doo-in" but this thread makes me think it's actually "all-doo-een."

It reminds me of an ancient mystical Scottish term - Auld Yin (meaning Old One) :biggrin:

I say Al-dyew-in. I lay no claim to any knowledge on this at all though :P

[Edit] changed the spelling as it's how others are describing it, and it's the same as what I was going for (so that there's no confusion)

More like, AL-Dew-In.

:P

Most Elder Scrolls naming is said how it is spelled. In the imperial sense. The most common vowel soundings.

A = ahhhh
E = (the Letter)
I = eye, OR as in if, when used in conjuction with another vowel, such as U
O = oh
U = You

There are other rules, of course, but Highschool English teaches how to read new words.

As a German I never asked myself that question - it's just Alduin, duh! :P

Al Doo Een, with the A as in Amish.

This.
