Algernon was born in the town of Nipton in 1990. He excelled at school, and graduated in 2008 having gained an A* in biology, chemistry, physics, maths, computer science, history, DT and sociology. He studied theoretical physics at university, building all manner of crazy devices in his spare time.

In 2021, he built a time machine, and to test it, went 260 years forwards to see what the world was to be like, taking nothing but his Apple watch with him.

Upon arrival in 2281, he was ambushed by a man in a checkered suit and some thugs. They stole his Apple watch, describing the mysterious device as 'the platinum chip'.

He was shot in the head, and woke up dazed in Doc Mitchell's house. Confused, he ventured out into the Mojave to exact revenge...
