I know you can enable the name menu and allow the player to change the PC name, but is there any to change the PC name to something specific like saying. "Your name is Mud" and have the PC name be "Mud" and then change it back later?

Theres a console command "ShowRaceMenu" ... but be warned. half the time it works, and the other half it blows up the game and destroys canada. This should basically allow you to go through the character generation manu's again.

No. What I want to do is change the PC's name based on events in the game to a preset alternative to what they chose, and then change it back to what they originally chose later. Like, many of us have had nicknames, eh? They are not our real names, but we answer to those nicknames anyway. Much of the time we don't choose those nicknames, they are chosen for us by friends or enemies.

After a time though, those nicknames fade away, and we then use our real name again until another nickname comes along, if it ever does.

I don't think there's a script command for that. MWSE might have it, but I doubt it.

Of course, you could always just have people call you something specific in the dialogue. Instead of using the %PCName function

OR

You could prefix the %PCName command with whatever nickname. "Hello Captain Ugly %PCName".

But yea, no command to change just the name.

That is a really good idea, and workable.though I can see instances where it might look very weird to the player reading it. That will likely be the method used.... Thanks!.
