Is anyone else looking forward to this new Alice game? or are EA just too unpopular?

I enjoyed the first game (American McGee's Alice - even the manual was interesting) and have been keeping an eye on this..

I enjoyed the first one. Keeping an eye on the new one, but we'll see.

Seems like an attempt by American McGee to try and salvage his career by going back to the only thing of his that anyone liked.

Very much looking forward to this. I read that console users (not sure about PC platform) will get a code to download the first Alice title to play.

I have the first game, but haven't played too much of it yet. Is it important to have read the Alice in Wonderland books to appreciate the game? Because I never read those books, and I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of references, but I'm not sure.

I didn't really care for AM's Alice. It seemed like an Alice in Wonderland interpretation as thought up by Tim Burton --- who, I guess, being unsatisfied with AM's Alice, decided to make his own some years later. Alice in Wonderland is already a [censored] up, twisted, surreal story. Attempts to make it even crazier!! feel a little juvenile.

Will I play it? As sure as a raven is like a writing desk.

Hey! I liked Grimm. It was the perfect series of weekly released roll-around-and-twist-everything episodes. ^_^
Bad Day L.A. was utter crud, this I would agree with.

I know it's not supposed to have any real answer, but I always though "Poe wrote on both" seemed clever and fitting enough. :P

I am pretty excited for this one. I never got to play the first one, though from what I have seen, I should. This series seems to nail a very creepy atmosphere, which means it is definitely something up my alley.

The first was a blast (and a cult classic, I guess). I will definitely try to play this new game. The preview looked good.

Not terribly important, no. As long as you know the basic story you should be able to piece it together yourself, although reading the books certainly helps.

I loved the first game, and I am looking forward to the next one enormously. From the new information they've been releasing, it looks even darker and more twisted than the original. The graphics could be improved, but if the story makes up for it then it's okay with me.

American McGee's Alice was the first game I ever played and it is my favorite game of all time. I still play it once a year. I love every minute of that game. So I'm very excited to read this!

I agree, I like that Alice in Wonderland is twisted in a subtle way, I don't want it thrown in my face. Still, I've heard good things about the first one, so maybe I will try it out.

I don't know, Doom, Doom 2, Final Doom, Hexen: Beyond Heretic, Quake Mission Pack 1 & 2, Doom 64 & The Ultimate Doom were all pretty good games that a lot of people like that he had a hand in.

With that said, I have never played Alice though I had heard it was a good game I just never got around to playing it. He was also working on movie adaptations of Alice and Oz (as in Wizard of Oz).

He claims he wants to be the next "Walt Disney". Not sure how that's working out for him thus far since he really hasn't done much since DexIQ but I don't know anything about that project.
