I can't believe you guys, Mothership Zeta was awesome, and I loved them little alien bast%*^s! Zeta had beautiful artwork, plenty of action, new animations and you got to blow up another space ship in space, and you got to BE in space. It was awesome! HEAR YE, NON-BELIEVERS!! THEY ARE AMONG US!!!

Most people don't like it because it messed around with the lore.

Also, some people hated that there was no storyline and it was all non-stop action. Really, if I wanted to play a mediocre, overrated shooter, I'd play Halo.

I've heard this for a while and I still don't understand it. There were aliens in the first two games. Honest to god dead aliens in crashed spacecraft with alien weapons. Meeting some while they're still alive is against the lore?

An alien should be in Easter egg version only...like some street swindler has captured one and strapped him down to a spinning wheel board and you can pay to throw real knives at it. That'd be fun.

:lmao:

Or how about the ability to cook it and eat it, and call it Alien Fresh Jerkey.

Well there is a sign in vegas that reads Alien Fresh Jerky on the I-15 to California... Well thats in Bakersfield, but Bakersfield is in the Majove.

Zeta was not bad, it was actually quite enjoyable. The main problem with it though was that it did not fit in Fallout 3 very well.

I say include aliens, as was mentioned Area 51 is the perfect location to have something. I just hope that if they are included it will not be quite so over the top as Zeta obviously was.

Post Apocalyptic Easter Egg = Right

They were easter eggs

Unless all the other random encounters (and I mean ALL) were also easter eggs: Nuh-uh.

All Random Encounters are easter eggs nothing more.

The Aliens in fallout 1 and 2 were Random encounters so they were easter eggs! If they count as canon then so would all the others. that means STAR TREK would be part of fallout. Should we have Klingons as well? no! Or Dr. Who or Godzilla? Again a BIG NO!

Obsidian should, like, TOTALLY make a Godzilla DLC.

In Fallout 2 you could also get an Alien Blaster another way. Was that also an easter egg?

Well I guess all I can say is that it's Bethesda's universe now and Zeta happened.

Well Bethesda can take a page from Black Isle and Interplay when they made (BrotherHood Of Steel) and forget they ever made it. Bethesda should do the same with Mothership Zeta. There is next to nothing about that Brotherhood of steel that can be counted as canon. We can do the same for mothership zeta and forget it ever happened.

You have to differentiate between "Special Encounters" e.g. The Tardis, Nuka Cola Truck, Tinman, Guardian of forever. and "random encounters", 3 Radscorpions, a band of Slavers, a trade caravan.
"Special Encounters" are just that special, they easter eggs and are not canon. A group of unwashed villagers hunting a spammer is not fallout lore, as much as i would like it to be :P

How can you reject aliens by saying they are "not canon"? Is a blade of grass or a tree canon? Are women canon? We've never been alone in this universe, and neither are they alone in the fallout universe. The fact that they appeared in fallout 1 and 2 and 3, means aliens do exist in the fallout alternate reality, so why the heck shouldn't they appear? The Easter bunny, however, is not canon, so forget about Easter eggs.

Why is that so? Besides Mothership Zeta and Having No Ending to the Game added by broken Steel and some minor details I really loved fallout 3 and the DLCs. I can enjoy Mothership Zeta when I play it with the mindset that it is just a very big easter egg. Having it as Fallout canon along with all Aliens is something that bugs me alot. (I know I am not the only one that thinks that.) I bought and played fallout 1 and 2 and tactics when they were new and played them many dozen times and I have never thought that Aliens were part of the canon. I have not bought Brotherhood of steel but I have played it and it svcks. Aliens should not come back unless they are Easter Eggs. Mothership Zeta if canon would make fallout something that it's not. It will make it a war of the Worlds kinda deal. Not what I have come to know and love and that is the lone wanderer in a post apocalyptic world.

It's just that Mothership Zeta and similar things do not fit with a post-apocalyptic world.

I don't see the harm in having a few aliens, just as long as they stay to Area 51 and Random Events.(Should RE's return)

In what way?

Look at the size of the Alien space ship in Mothership Zeta. There was at least 2 of them. So going with that why not have more invading earth? that is the logical step. Before you know it there will be alien city bases on earth and them taking over. That is not Fallout that is "Resistance" but with the aliens in Mothership Zeta. all that will lead to "War of the Worlds" Crap.
Even if the Aliens come back as good they will fix the world and help us make things new, that will not be a post apocalyptic wasteland, not fallout.

Aliens should not come back. Only as Easter Eggs at most. Never again as bad guys.

As I've said before, I'd have no problem with it, but Zeta put such a bad taste in people's mouths that it'd be unlikely to happen. At least, not with any live aliens.

It was obvious from Mothership Zeta that they were collecting us for study.

Why study us unless they want something from us like to take over. If all they were doing is studying us why have them back? We had are got taken by aliens, killed them and got away crap why would we need to have that again.?
Only way we would see them again is if they take a more active role like invading or helping and I explained why that would be crap.
