Aliens in Fallout: New Vegas

Obsidian should, like, TOTALLY make a Godzilla DLC.

Spoiler
/sarcasm

That would be a ''HUGE'' hit in Japan....

Aliens will probably be an easter-egg like in the original Fallouts.

I'm pretty sure it's already been stated that New Vegas will be canon toward Fallout 1 & Fallout 2 but not Fallout 3. Bethesda made an interesting attempt at a Fallout game but it does not really pay much homage to the Fallout series. Maybe if they changed some things and called it something else it would have been a great Post-Apoc RPG.

Since it's being made by Obsidian they will most likely not want to tie it in with Beth who changed their universe around quite a bit and rather would want to stick back to their original work.

And to add on with MZ, I feel like it was added on because people would not shutup about the aliens and what they are doing on Earth blahhhh blahhh blahhh. So instead of making it a mystery like done in Fallout 1 and 2 Bethesda decides to make a DLC about it attempting to expand the story with it. In the end it killed it's ties with Fallout and was like it's own silly game Beth decided to make and slap the name Fallout on it.

I agree with you all, I dislike MZ too.

And yet nobody has given a proper reason for it...

I personally enjoyed playing MZ, but I wouldn't want aliens to be that involved in NV for a simple reason. I've seen it, it doesn't really need to be in there. To be fair neither did MZ, but I liked it, it was a fun break from the rest of the game. But I wouldn't like to see it in NV.

How does anything "fit" a post-apocalyptic fantasy universe with magic nuclear enerygy and pseudo-50s kitsch of which aliens were a component? How can you exclude something from being in Fallout because it reminds you of other video games?

Aliens were in fallout as easter eggs because they were "1950's Kitch" that is what made it a joke. If they keep with Mothership Zeta it will make fallout a completely different games. We have forums so fans can talk about the game. If most of the fans say it should not be canon then it should not be canon.

hahaha oh wow I guess that's why they're using all of the designs from Fallout 3 including their pip-boy, their super mutants, and their gameplay mechanics.

Who needs aliens when I can visit people clearly on the moon right here?

Are their pictures showing concept of the pip-boy, and super-mutants? Is this stated somewhere? I would like to see.

Also they do plan to change the mechanics around quite a bit. It's just using the same engine as F3.

Its detrimental to an original concept/idea, when the game itself can stand alone as individual it seems wholly unnecessary to degrade it through copycatting from elsewhere.

I would not mind if Aliens appeared in Area 51 if they put it in...But just a minor small part. They don't even have to be alive.

Very true fact. I'm pretty sure Bethesda took some of the lore made by The Elder Scroll fans and put them in Oblivion, making it canon.

And agreed to the other statement. Involving aliens too much and it's not Fallout, the game of survival in a nuclear world, it ends up as Aliens get off my darn lawn!

Looking in the sky at night, you might see a star or two flash brightly, then disappear completely. There's your alien. As a random encounter of some sort, this would make a good easter egg. Perhaps, while roaming the desert, dehidrated and during the day, you might see an alien lander touch down on the horizon, right before you collapse and die? That would make a cool game over.

I'd prefer it if there were no magic, no biotic powers, no psychic powers, no aliens, no paranormal activities.

I want a gritty world with AK-47's, hokers with STD:s, casino's with trigger happy card sharks, leather armour because it stops a knife in a fight, not because it looks good.

I guess what I want is Wasteland 2. DAMNIT.

The Alien Blaster is a weapon that's been in every fallout game. Area 51 is the perfect place to find it in NV.

Otherwise no MZ reruns. They where bad enough the first time around.

elvis as a joke, he was in paintings in fallout 2. I can see him or an impersonator being the "King" of a small cult of ghouls. As a Joke easter egg. No more Aliens.

My 5 cents, aliens as a joke and/or hidden encounter is fine.

A pair of ailen weapons are also fine.

but no MZ again, I agree with others that this does not feel like it belongs to Fallout.

...

but a big iron giant could be fun :)

Do something with the aliens in a potential Area 51, maybe the dead alien floating in tubes idea. Or, make an alien Companion. I dont care that much.

Lol'd at all the MZ hate here.

Me, I don't give a rat's ass about if Aliens will appear in this game. A game with Super Mutants and plasma rifles, Aliens aren't really that big a hit against the canon.

So you'd have no problem with MW3 featuring Gundam-style mecha, laser guns, samurai and American ninjas? I mean, MW2 completely disregarded any semblance of "realism" and "consistency" and just went with what is cool.
