Aliens, inclusion of and how?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 11:30 am

Yeah guaranteed, 100% sure we will get the wet dream of NMA and FO4 will be the ultimate Alien experience when finally big evil Bethesda reveals that Aliens are responsible for the great war and all original Fallouts are hints for this big event.

Hope you feel better now for your premature "told you so" :D

As much as I hate to say it, I always felt that the aliens in Fallout made a huge impact on the story. I say that because up until a certain point, our universe and the Fallout universe were the "same". Yet, at a fairly specific point, the two universes diverged greatly. There must have been some new variable thrown into the mix to cause that change.

Don't think so in all seriousness (was joking in my answer to Styles). Yes the little grey Aliens are needed for the mix of whacky 50's style SF vibe thats typical for Fallout. But it isn't the main focus.

Fallout wouldn't work that way and MZ is a fun (also the last for FO3) DLC and not a lore bible.

Oh I won't be shocked one bit if Aliens return to Fallout and Bethesda includes them as a major part of the series.

Anything that can't be explained: "Well it must be Aliens!" or "Science!" or "Alien Science!" But I am sure most people won't care one bit because they will be to busy playing Fallout Sims to care about the actual story.

Whatever dev thinks adding aliens into Fallout as a serious thing to the tapestry beyond non-canon easter eggs needs to be fired. Period. Aliens in a hammy 1950s sci-fi sim in-game? Sure, whatever. Actually suggesting aliens exist like in Stupidship Zeta? No. Never again. Ever. I even staunchly refuse to play Zeta because of how garbage it is. No serious use of aliens in Fallout. End of discussion.

I wasn't actually making a reference to your post. What I meant was that something pretty major caused a divergence in the timelines at a certain point, but we don't know what. Even without Mothership Zeta, the aliens are one of the only things that I can think of that could suddenly change our timeline into the Fallout timeline.

So.... you are suggesting that Aliens could be why the timelines split?

We don't know to know the cause all we need to know is that hundreds of years ago things changed. Things played out differently. It doesn't need to be explained and it sure as [censored] shouldn't be explained by "Aliens!"

It doesn't even need to have been something major that caused the timeline differences. One small chance could have caused all the changes. Change one thing it causes a ripple effect.

Yeah we don't need to know which Butterfly :D is responsible and as I stated earlier I am sure Bethesda won't use the Aliens for that. Explain it all and you take out the whole fun out of the game.

Aliens are in every Fallout game but even with existing concept art they don't need to have a big role. http://fallout.gamepedia.com/File:Fo3_Kryolator_Concept_Art_3.jpg has concept art too and Isn't even in the game (FO3).

And what caused that change? The two timelines were seemingly EXACTLY the same until a certain point. Every choice, every event, was seemingly the same up until some point. Something new started to affect that timeline. Aliens, until we get something clear as to whether or not they're just an Easter egg or a thing, are a possibility for causing that.

I would like to have your optimism but I have my misgivings.

As for being in very game.. Only as Easter Eggs in all the games but for Fallout 3. Fallout 3 seems to have tried to make them a serious part of the series. Unless Bethesda has said MZ was just for fun

We don't need to know what caused it. Why do we need to know what caused it? The developers of Fallout said "hey why not have it with a retro 1950s theme" and so it was. People keep looking back at the Great War and in this case long before even that. Fallout isn't supposed to be about that. All that stuff is long in the past, hundreds of years in the past. We are supposed to be focusing on the future.

But anyways that is why I put that http://www.project610.com/files/Fallout%20Aliens.png post in the first place because if we keep going with it then that is what we will get and Fallout will become nothing but a joke like the "History Channel" has become. "Was George Washington visited by Aliens during Valley Forge! <-- a real thing they had on History Channel.

Forgive my ignorance but is fallout set in an actual parallel universe, as in part of the story?

It is an alternate timeline. Our world and Fallout's world was the same but it changed sometime after World War 2/1950s and took a very different path. It's also a future alternate timeline since it is now 2281.

The History Channel has turned to absolute crap. Anyway, I'd say the reason for the split is a pretty big deal. Assuming the Fallout world and this world were "the same" at one point, it shouldn't be possible for the two worlds to diverge. Our world and their world should still be the same. It was honestly probably just a device for narrative reasons, but it's a potentially big deal. The thing that caused the split may still very well still be affecting the Fallout world.

What if FO is set in the far far future after we destroyed ourselves in an apocalyptic war, when they say it is set in 2288 it just means 2288 years after the event and records were kept and the society in FO is based on remements of the 50's? Just a crazy theory

Now that's just silly. :P

But no, we know the date because of the Vaults and the Enclave. They're one of the few organizations to retain its records from before the war.

The fallout world diverged for no special reason. It just wheeled .1 degree but that wheel made it so that x thing happened which led to x2 etc all the way to the great war

Aliens is a joke in fallout and should remain so (i refuse zeta). Like aliens found in f2 holding an elvis picture. Aliens are a joke. Like finding a footprint of godzilla in f2. Wild wasteland JOKES or reference to popular culture.

Bethesda dropped the ball on the aliens thing.

Think you mean The Enclave m8.

http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Fallout_3_Official_Game_Guide_faction_profiles

"Once thought to be covered up by a government conspiracy and believed only by "crackpot" groups such as the Quaere Verum, evidence of extraterrestrial life can be traced back throughout human history, but became nationally recognized after the mysterious disappearance of the Clarabella 7 space pod during the 1960s Space Race. It is said that Alien technology was the basis of many of the Enclave's more exotic and impressive weaponry and robotics, and even toy manufacturers such as Wilson Automatoys weren't immune to these accusations. Recently, after the discovery of an Alien body in Fort Bannister, the shocking truth was revealed. The Aliens are not only real and alive, but they're back. And they're pissed."

I wouldn't mind aliens in the game at all. At the very least the gun hidden somewhere with enough ammo to make it actually worth using. Maybe it can be modified in this game to fire normal plasma rounds instead once your out off the original ammo.

Just reminded me I should watch Enemy Mine sometime in the future. But no aliens except for innuendo and rumor; best to keep them behind the scenes pulling strings.

I believe aliens should be nothing more but easter eggs as they always have been in Fallout, save for the ever dull experience that was Mothership Zeta.

Please do not attack me for having a differing opinion.

Well Aliens would be tough but a reskinned Deathclaw, scaled down to just above human size, should do in a pinch.

What?

Okay I kid. I disliked Mothership Zeta because there was no suspense to it. You immediately start out kicking alien butt. Absolutely nothing fun about having just a whole new shooting gallery of bad guys, along with a few new weapons. I didn't feel like they added anything more than a new group of raiders in a whole new map instance would have. If Bethesda could make an alien encounter creepy, strange or otherwise something aside from your run of the mill run'n'gun scenario, I might be inclined to be more supportive of aliens in Fallout 4. Without that much thought and attention, a log or audio tape that references their presence should be more than enough of a nod for me. I don't even want a 50's throwback ray gun.
