Aliens, inclusion of and how?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 1:52 am

Hi, vault dwellers!

So, it has been "hinted" in the concept art, the return of aliens in Fallout 4, and it wouldn't be that big of a surprise, because they are a nice addition to the wacky 50's post-apo-wasteland.

Personally, I would be happy with a crash site, where the player will be able to find a powerful alien blaster and some scattered ammo - exactly like F3. But, I would love if they did take it further and included a secret military facility, small or big, where a faction collected some aliens to harvest their DNA and technology, for their own benefit.

How would you like to see them included, just in the vanilla game?

I wouldn't mind a sort of quest with a wacky x files vibe where you bump into a a creepy old spacehead in a hut and he sends you out on an investigation looking for aliens. Nothing too big though or failing that wreckage from zeta would do

^------This.

Having said that, though, I expect they'll be everywhere.

Hopefully a easter egg at best, both 3 and NV dealt with "silly" sci-fi elements by making them dlc and hopefully 4 follows the same trend.

The game takes place so close to Fallout 3 that there could easily be some overlap. When the Lone Wanderer destroys the other alien mothership from Mothership Zeta, it crashes to Earth somewhere. Seeing that battle take place in the sky followed by the crash of the mothership in the Boston Wasteland isn't impossible, I suppose.

This could lead to some great stories. The last of the aliens stranded on earth. Maybe they go into hiding and just try to avoid humans and survive.

No aliens.

Aliens were a joke in f1 and f2.

Zeta was the worst thing bethesda has done

I'm indifferent. I take the game as it's presented and they don't ruin the game for me. While we don't need another Mothership Zeta (it svcked), I don't think there has ever been a Fallout game without an alien blaster showing up somewhere. It's sort of tradition.

I personally disliked Zeta, alot, and I generally don't like F3 and F4 crossing story- or questwise. I want a seperate and unique story or experience.

BUT, I still would love to see something small or very separated from the main quest in F4, involving aliens - love the mystery surrounding it. What happened here? Where did it come from? Wow, an unearthy weapon?! Zeta totally destroyed that experience, by putting it in the foreground.

I disliked Zeta, not for the content or it's existence, but for the fact that it was essentially a corridor shooter with bullet sponges.

I loved Mothership Zeta. Underrated DLC.

At any rate, aliens have had their moment in the spotlight, whether or not we think they deserved it. Let them go back to their lives as easter eggs. That being said, I think it was the Junk Jet part of the combat montage, I saw "toy alien" from the container list. Ergo, you can use your favorite little green men as ammo, and blow off raider heads with them. That I think we can all enjoy.

I want a character that looks like Giorgio A. Tsoukalos and just runs around a small area, screaming weird Alien conspiracies at the people. Kinda like M'aiq the Liar, You go talk to him and he just says weird things like "You see that Star,? the Boston Memorial points directly at it, the ET's are watching us, they planned the holocaust"

I would like to see them in another DLC thing, so it is optional for people whom really seem to hate the idea of little green men, (or gray). I for one do like the Aliens Items and gear in FO. maybe not so much the Alien beings. Like the space ship though

Like it or not, the aliens have been a reality in the four previous Fallout games (if their Blaster can be carried, purchased and used the aliens who built it can't be hallucinations like the Tardis or shuttlecraft), so I expect them to show up in F4 in some capacity. The obvious way would be for the Institute to possess or seek to possess some of their tech (there's a quest decision for you - sell it or keep it?) or maybe even have an imprisoned specimen. I don't expect anything as elaborate as Mothership Zeta (which I loved).

As long as they're not a major plot device I'm fine with their inclusion. It's nice to see the wackier side of things now and again.

I like this idea. The Sole Survivor of Vault 111 coming across the sole survivor of an alien air disaster. Maybe a quest to find crash debris and tech so he can get home? In return for which you get his Blaster, of course.
