i hate to burst your bubble but there are few countries that have been less violent. are biggest number of casualties was 600,000 for the civil war, thats a pittance compared to many other countries like the european countries, china, cambodia, russia etc.......there is canada but they only have fraction of our population. if you compare americas history up to and including the current wars you will find a lot less conflict than in europes history as well as asias and africas and south americas. hell the british had a bigger empire than we do now 100 years ago. we have bases everywhere but we only control those bases not a colony with the exception of puerto rico and they consistenly vote against becoming a state because then they would have to pay taxes. the aliens would undoubtedly notice that even with a military superiority we only control a small percentage of the population and land area......thats not exactly the sign of an empire bent on conquering everyone.

america also has the largest communication network including the media which i think would be important if your going to announce your arrival. as for invading im taking out huge population center first like india and china either to kill as many people as possible or to enslave as many as possible to build a army of genetically manipulated, mind controlled super soldiers. if they can get here with an armada the difference between americas military might and ethiopias would be like someone with a bronze age sword going up against a tank or using an iron sword against a tank........either way..........sword guy loses.

im definitely in the camp of it being highly unlikely. when you crunch the numbers the odds are against it big time.

USA is still quite young compared to European and Asian countries. And of course there have been less fighting due this simple fact.

I'm not speaking about ancient history. All current major military operations where executed by US Military. And I bet that aliens are not interensted how we lived 100 years ago.
Their minds are focused to current time and how world is doing right now. And last large scale conflicts around world have been usually US Military invading stuff. And I
don't deny that US is one of the advanced military machines around this rock.

To be fair sauork, you've been kind of egging him on by listing reasons why the U.S. isn't the super duper best place ever for aliens like he thinks it is. I think it'd be best if you both just dropped it, which could have happened if you just ended your post with "Lets avoid politics ok?"

as for motives, even if they did exist why would aliens come to earth anyways? for instance there are more raw materials in our solar system as far as metals and even water. they might look at us like hillbillies at a gas station.......they will stop to gas up with whatever they need and and they might politely wave but one of them will turn to the other and say "lets get out of here before they try and talk to us"

i bet there is some alien out there thinking if he is alone in the universe.

Or, since we can assume that they have far more advanced technology than us, they might just blast away any human settlement from orbit in less than a day. Or, they may have a far better understanding of anything science, develop a flu that you can't be immune to, spread it, and we drop like flies. I think you're too confident in the belief that they would be similar enough compared to humans, and have similar values and agendas.

BSF isn't exactly the place to discuss politics, so, as I already said, we should drop it. If you really believe the things you're saying I suggest you go to a more politics oriented board and see the reaction you get.

True, I've made my point about that. And I don't have any reason to continue on that path. But if there is alien race capable to interstellar travel, I bet they wont care much about our countries and differences what we have.





There is always some good space here, if humanity did not exist. And if alien race is not capable to "terraform" planets or if this takes too much time this place could be worth of taking.
