it should play it but for how much ur paying for an AlienWare you can just build one for about half the price but u wont get some of the things that AlienWare offers for the Computers like light up keyboards ( but im sure you can find one for a laptop) nameplates with the AlienWare Language on it and some of there accessories.

Nope, the Alienware can better handle Hd gaming in every test compared to the asus g73.. That is if your seriously considering to be a crysis type gamer ?

That alienware you are looking at will have a heart attack on Crysis 2.

You want atleast:

A quad core (quad series, i5, whatever)
NVIDIA GTX260 or better
4GB RAM

That alienware rig will be running mainstream (medium) graphic settings. If you want to be able to run anything higher than medium, that alienware rig will **** you back to your South African ancestry from the monkey.

They classify that as a gaming laptop? :/

@Maximum Alien - the GT240M is very different to the desktop GT240 card. All mobile GPU's are cut-down versions of their desktop counterpart.

Notice how the battery life is never listed on these gaming laptops. :P

The ones that said that the Asus G73 can handle it is right. It is by far the best gaming laptop out there right now for the price. It even outperforms laptops that cost twice as much but make sure you get the G73JH-A1 or A2 and not the cheap low res watered done crap model at best buy that someone mentioned. You can find them on the web between $1500-$1700. The specs for the ASUS G73JH-A1 is Intel Quad Core i7-720QM Processor, 17.3" Full HD (1920x1080) LED Display, 8GB DDR3 1066MHz Memory, 1TB (500GB 7200RPM x 2) Hard Drive, Blu-Ray DVD Combo Drive, ATi HD5870 1GB GDDR5 Graphics Card, Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.

Speaking from experience, the 240M will run crysis on medium settings and high with tolerable frame rates. I have the m15x with the 240M, core i-7 720QM, and 4 gigs of RAM. I definitely have enjoyed it. But even still, the only regret I have is not getting the 260M to run very smoothly. So if you can scrounge together the cash, get the 260M.

BTW people you can forget quad core for the time being, as barely and games will ever make use of more then 2 cores. Crysis 2 might, but it really isn't paying that much for a CPU so you can load crysis 2 a bit faster. Concentrate on the graphics card.
You should all remember that HDD's can be a bottleneck, and it might be an idea to get a small solid state drive (which are far faster) for your OS and a couple of your most demanding games, then keep your HDD for the rest.

GTAIV, FarCry2, BFBC2, Arma2, just to name a couple of games off the top of my head that love to eat my Q9550.

I regularly play GTAIV and BFBC2, so i couldn't stand going back to a dual core now.
