Is Alkatraz a mute? I think I'm not forgetting anything but my memory tells me he did not say a single thing The entire game. I think the goal is immersion but whenever I have a game where my character says nothing it's less immersive because I spend the whole time feeling like an observer of what everyone else is doing. Any other thoughts?

that was the only thing that bothered me about the campaign.

WHY IS HE NOT TALKING!!!

1) in the submarine he was hung over from the tequila.
2) after escaping the submarine and getting shot at by an alien gunship his spine cracked at multiple points, his lungs collapsed and he suffered some major heart trauma.
3) after symbiotic integration with the suit which supposedly sustained and corrected his vital functions and possibly also invaded his brain, he managed to say four words at the end of the game.

It's a wonder he lived long enough for Prophet to find him, really.
And then he managed to not die while getting dragged into that warehouse.

Well... atleast he talks. I agree, the fact that alcatraz didn't say a word made me feel like I was playing on a somekind of retarted guy. I liked Nomad and Psycho much more.

He was dumbed-down so that Console players wouldn't have too much to catch up.

Did he have to talk? Nomad didn't talk. And by the end of the game if you didn't realize why Alcatraz didn't talk, you didn't get it.

Nomad was more chatty than Oprah Winfrey comparing to Alcatraz!

And even than he was bashed all over in reviews for being dull, characterless actor.

They took one of the best things away for crysis2, and that was a protagonist that was able to speak.
