So I bought Crysis 2 yesterday, installed it once, patched it up and played some of the game. This isn't a review thread so I wont mention how I feel about this console port. That being said, I take the game upstairs to my office to load on my other PC to see how it would run on a 6870 and I couldn't activate it, said all my licenses were used.

I called EA and they all but told me I'm ****. Even included the word piracy? There's no words that can describe my anger at this given moment. I'm not going to rage on a public forum. But what the hell do I do? If I so much as get a system crash from overclocking or what-not I'm completely screwed out of a brand new game.

It can only be installed on ONE machine at a time. You can install it on as many computers as you want, but you have to uninstall it from one before it gets installed on another.

Not true. My friend has it on 3 machines at the same time. 2 PC's and his laptop. 3 of his activations are used up.

So I'm guessing nobody knows...

Stop lying. If you called EA support they will ask you if you want to deactivate authorized machines or increase your activation limit.

Anyways, I contacted EA, gave them a picture of my dvd case, dvd, manual, key and serial number. They're going to reset it for me so if anyone else is having this issue than just email EA, don't call them. Have the pics ready, took 2 days for them to process it. All is good now.

Crysis2 gives you maximum 5 activations. It means you can install it to a maximum of 5 machines. use the ea's activation executable to authorize and deauthorize your machine.

Everytime you install and activate crysis2 you'll get a hardware ID for activation.

Yeah, or turn on your PC one day without Hyper-threading enabled.. game thinks I'm on a new PC and activates again.

Gotta love DRM on top of steam on top of website accounts. Talk about making legit users jump through as many hoops as possible.

isnt it weird that you payed for the game and cant use it on diff pcs

and piracy version can cheat! play online! and such, without any problems.

Cant we use a Crack to activate the game and just log in with our legit cd key - then we never use the 5 activations - dont know if i am allowd to ask this. - i format alot ( i am only using 1 pc to play the game)- and you cant Deactivate something when your PC crash can you? - Please dont ban me for asking, oh wait this is not the Test drive unlimited forums.(they do ban you for anything there)
