All best are off - your guess on DLCs - Spoilers allowed

Please tell me, what kind of DLCs you expect (or wish for) and I would like to know why you expect that.

I think, because of the ending it makes sense that most of these DLC's will take place apart from the commonwealth, like most of the previews Fallout DLCs

These I my guesses:

Simulation/memory pods: They are there and we haven't done anything cool with, so I am quite sure, that they will be part of an DLC. And they can be used for virtually anything. But I am not sure whether I want to return to an even better Alaska or do something rather strange like fighting against nightmares inside someone's head.

Synths army: I think Synths were rather passive the whole time and this whole morale dilemma would be explained more. Would be cool if synths did something on their own, like reprogramming other Synths in order to enslave humanity. Till now they were mostly props for the plot and enemies. And if you listen to Silver Shroud radio you can hear him fight the mechanist, might be a hint.

Something about the past of the Sole survivor: Kinda bothered me that my companions had more to say about the environment than the Sole Survivor, who lived there. Maybe he hears of descendants of former friends or family or maybe he is just searching for a McGuffin that belonged to him once.

Something on an island or an really large oil rig. Could be something rather linear like the Anchorage Campaign of Broken Steel.

Returning to the actual Alaska: That would be cool, but I am not sure if that makes sense. I mean it's would be a really long distance and it's not like you could simply book a flight. And think getting around during the Post-Apocalypse should be hard. But on the other hand, there were several people in Fallout 3, who made it from the commonwealth to DC, even though it makes me scratch my head when I think about.

There could be mechanics around not freezing to death.

Aliens: They are still there and the last time was pretty cool.

The Abbey of the Road, a hidden monastery mentioned in FO3: Point Lookout. It's located in upstate New York, so it's in the general vicinity, and it's status as pre-established lore makes it attractive.

That is more of an idea than guess. Based on the premise that with all that focus on Power Armor in Fallout 4, we should have acces to all types of them. And the only one missing is Hellfire Armor from Broken Steel.

You finally become a client in the memory den. You're reliving memories of former Enclave soldier, who "volunteered" his brain. You see the Posiedon Oil Rig, Navarro (with mandatory presence of Sergeant Dornan and maybe some conitinuity nods to the Devil's Brigade), witness Eden's call to the East Coast etc. The final stage being the battle for Adams Air Force Base. At the end You learn the location of his hidden supply base, where his Hellfire Armor rests - That way We will have Enclave in Fallout 4, without having Enclave around :D

I foresee these people getting militarized and becoming a real threat because they want annihilate the world again with nuclear weapons sending the earth back into darkness.

Is it ever explained why they became so violent in the first place?

If Bethesda really wanted to troll the players they could do a DLC as follows:

Upon completion of the Main Quest, after the Institute is either destroyed or victorious. A new enemy faction of some kind invades The Commonwealth.

If the player sided with either The Railroad, or The Minutemen (The Good Guys), the decentralized nature of these two factions results in being caught completely by surprise. This results in countless innocent lives being destroyed by the invaders before the SS can rally the troops and save the day. But save the day the SS definitely will.

If the player sided with either The BOS or The Institute (The Bad Guys), the centralized, strong command and control nature of these factions results in the ability organize a rearguard defense and orderly evacuation of non-combatants from threatened areas. These factions, though they save countless innocent lives, are still forced back to their strongholds before the SS rallies the troops and saves the day.

This is the kind of moral curve ball I would throw at the players if I was writing for Bethesda.

Good point, I am sure the DLCs will bring new power armor. I thinks that's by best chance to visit any deep see platform and I would really to see the Enclave oil rig in HD.

Only problem is: what do you do as an Enclave soldier? This is not a rhetorical question, I actually asking that.

I want some Broken Steel type DLC that adds more stuff after the ending.

Maybe a DLC in Cape Cod or some other place in the area.

I'd like some sort of ending DLC where you can convince Father and the institute to abandon all the evil they are doing and start purely working on cures for the diseases that the humans above face......humanely that is.....no horror murder labs......and you could get the BoS on board to provide security. As for the synths they'd all be recalled and shut down.....no more AI running amok. With the Brotherhood cleaning house of abominations and the institute actually doing something to help and putting all that technology to some good use humanity would be in the best possible shape to rebuild and survive.

Easy, training on the Oil Rig, soo combat without lethal weapons or some kind of simulation. Cleaning the lover decks from Mirelurks/Lakelurks/WhatEverLurks. Navarro part is patroling and dealing with the Wasteland, maybe some Vertibird assaults, some "interactions" with the locals Frank Horrigan style, You know, good ol' Enclave. DC part would be quite fun too, assault on Project Purity from Enclave point of view (conviniently missing the Lone Wanderer), the same for Battle for Adams. Imagine operation Anchorage but more open and story driven.

This a thousand times over. I really hope they support the continuity of the game world with their dlcs. Not that they all have to do that, but the biggest dlc should be something that addresses the end state of your game and gives you more to do past that. Something that lets you kind of define why you chose what you did and give you more to do post game. Some dlcs like Dawnguard would be awesome too. Like individual dlcs that give you unique events to participate in that aren't necessarily tied into the main game world.

Right now it's too easy to choose Minuteman or Railroad. Minutemen easiest of all. I just want to introduce consequences associated with that decision without altering the morality of the SS.

I would be less inclined to suggest something like this if Bethesda had allowed for a bit more diplomacy between the factions. But the 'Kill Them All and let God Sort Them Out', final faction quests are what inspired my turn to the Dark Side.

Perhaps if a future DLC allowed the SS to begin reforming the Institute or BOS I would be happier, but I am afraid it could not be done in a realistic manner. Particularly where the BOS is concerned.

Brotherhood of Steel DLC nuff said. considering the NCR were continuing their campaign eastward. coming to the east coast completely by now would be quite possible. and by history we know the brotherhood and NCR dislike each other highly. id like to see a lot of end game content with all factions but im BOS for life. Brotherhood needs a dlc.

No it wouldn't.

It took the NCR 100 years to move from California to Nevada, and to discover Hoover Dam.

There is no way they could cross the thousands of miles it is from Nevada to the east coast in the 4 years between New Vegas and Fallout 4.

That would be great, but players tricked when you introduce consequences after wards and the game never made clear that the Minutemen are too soft.

Maybe the first DLCs could make that point and in one of the later DLCs you can actually see these consequences. But the game also never points out that the SS is not a demi god, who could destroy entire armies by himself if he wanted to, so what consequences could there be that can't be reversed by the SS himself?

I wish they'd made Salem a big horror-themed DLC, rather than a couple of houses in the corner of the map. Missed opportunity there.

Yeah, the memory pods are a DLC waiting to happen. Maybe you go back and "relive" your wartime memories when you were in the battle of Seattle or something. It's a bit too Anchorage for my liking, but it's inevitable I guess

Salem disappointed me big time. Although Devil's Due wasn't terrible. A bit short. Dunwich Borers too. I would really like to see a DLC set after the main quest too, some further involvement from whatever faction you sided with. Seeing how much influence you can have with the Institute would be really interesting. Maybe something with super mutants too, they seem to have some level of organization and I dunno if we ever meet one that's like the unofficial big boss mutant but it might be interesting. AND I WANT AN UNDERWATER FOCUSED DLC BETHESDA DAMMIT. You made mutated dolphins, gimme more o' that deep sea crack.
