I noticed this had changed after a recent update via Google Play. I assumed the developers just decided to do it. My males don't all have facial hair, but those that don't now have glasses.
It's so inconsequential I didn't really think anything of it. You actually want to the option to turn it off?

Half of the fun was naming dwellers after real friends they looked like. I don't have a hundred friends with glasses or funky beards!
