We're all going to be so bad!

While Brink is an FPS, it is highly irregular in many regards, not least of which is SMART & the Overall pace of the game (Which I equate to Halo).

BUT, it's a new kind of FPS, which leads me to conclude we'll all svck in the first week; We will seriously blow.

We'll kick the bucket

svck a big one

Jump into the hurdle

Make the fail

Pull a Zack

So, anybody else willing to put their pride behind & accept the obvious? :D

Im usually better than most when a new game comes out cause im smart, so im not worried.

I find you hard to believe when a commander tells me EXACTLY what to do. :spotted owl:

I know you're not serious. I could tell by some of the pixels, and by having seen quite a few half-joking topics before. :frog:

I do think Brink will be a rather drastic change from what a lot of people are used to though. The controls, on the other hand, should be easy as pie to pick up and use, considering that you can map them however you like. Like someone else said already, the teamwork thing is going to be the hardest to get used to.

Indeed, these are my exact thoughts.

I do think it will take a few days to a week for everyone to start finding their feet in not just the gameplay but also the strategy, the latter generally taking longer to get accustomed to. However, apparently with Brink everything is very intuitive, including the latter.

I think what will be fascinating will be the myriad of players coming from different previous games, and thus how their playstyles fit into, or adapt to Brink.

You'll get those who've been playing Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Quake, and so on.
You'll get those who've been playing Call of Duty.
You'll get those who've been playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
You'll get those who've been playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
You'll get those who've been playing Borderlands.
You'll get those who've been playing Team Fortress 2.

There will be many more as well as those, I'm sure. The point is, I know for a fact that if I had still been playing primarily CoD up until now, I would start playing Brink a totally different way to how I will now, having played almost only Team Fortress 2 for a long time. and competitively too.

I can't wait. ^_^

I'll be the one sliding face first into the muzzle of a shotgun with s tupid grin on my face that will disappear as quickly as the lead shot leaves the barrel

Some people are just good at all shooters and Brink's shooting mechanics look fairly simple so I don't think those people will struggle any. I learned to play RTCW at its highest level and nearly every shooter since has felt easy by comparison.

I'll admit that i wont be the best at the game at first
I'll have to unlearn my 10 years worth of the Halo engine.. (which, mind you is killing me, but im willing to do it for Brink) Halo being my main 'FPS' game. I do play other genre's.

However, for the first day im not touching multiplayer, i'll learn what ever i can from Single player campagin and the challanges.
Hopefully by than i should be ready to take on others.

Conversely I think halo will help me get accustomed to Brink quicker no worries :celebration:

This is true. Look at Black Ops, within a week we got Level 45 13th prestiges, why? SAME. [censored]. GAME!!! Brink, we got fast paced action, parkour, objectives, and more. More time to get used to it, = more time for experience needed going on in playing. Still looking forward to it

I didn't compare the two I just said that it'll get me accustomed to it quicker since it takes longer to kill and is more mobile than your average FPS. Calm down
