I've been playing Wolfenstein:ET for years and years off and on. I will definitely know the importance of teamwork, although I think we will all have to get used to the maps, aiming with the new weapons/sights, and using the SMART system.

I've played enough FPS games to be able to aim and shoot, but understanding the SMART mechanics will be a bit tough, which is why i'm going to be all over the campaign first (and hey whatever level/item/upgrade you get in the campaign is incorporated in the multiplayer so you get the experience and the goodies :3 ).

I hope you burn in the eternal fires of hell for that comparison.

Calm down. So he is comparing a game. So what? You don't have to dam him to hell for it. :spotted owl:

@OP- It'll only take me about 30 min or less to adapt to SMART. The games I have now have almost the exact same button layout so it won't be that bad.

This is the reason why Healers and Medics are something to be most feared. And I love it!

True but why change it when you have a similar layout already in mind. I mean the only real thing I may change is use RB for reload instead of nades.......

How is that gonna work? Do you select the buff then press X or is it on automatically?

You auto reload when you finish off a clip but if your passing out buffs, Im not sure if you hold it or just tap it. Im not exactly sure how that will work out myself.

I believe to hand out buffs you hold down the X or Square button. It "attaches" you to the team member long enough to catch up to them and throw them the buff.

I've been honing my perception of spacial awareness with Mirror's Edge and Assassin's Creed while working on my accuracy and team sensitivity with the L4D series and using nothing but the hunting rifle (averaging 50% accuracy and top body counts wut wuuuuuuuuut)

So yeah... bring it on, Brink...

I think the thing that will take the most adjusting for a lot of people is the idea that this is a solely objective-based game, and not team deathmatch. You know, the fact that you actually have to do stuff besides go lone wolf and shoot people to succeed. :P

You don't have to be good at a game in order to succeed. You just need to be better than the people you are playing. The first day strikes for everyone, and I don't intend on being stuck in the starting gate.

Regulars to FPS will pick up the basics of shooting and cover fairly quickly.

Veterans of Splash Damage's previous titles will get right into the flow of things instantly.

Mirror's Edge vets will have a rough concept of parkour in an FPS though I doubt we'll have nearly as many options in Brink as we did in Mirror's Edge.

What will take time is learning the ins and outs of the maps so one can navigate them like they grew up in them.

Without that key knowledge, it's really just an FPS with a bunch of lost skinny guys trying to figure out where they can or can't go as heavies gun them all down.
