Fiction* - Not faction

...how different is the world created by Bethesda from the one that could be one day created by humans in real life?

We don't need deep thoughts to answer this question because we already have such "wasteland" in Europe.

The answer lies in Pripyat, an Ukrainian town that was exposed to nuclear radiation from nearby Chernobyl power-plant explosion.

I cant post links so please google image "pripyat after chernobyl disaster". There is also many documentaries about that event on youtube.

We have exactly same images as those present in Fallout 4 game. Rusted cars, looted buildings, empty and lifeless streets, even that there was no explosion, there are places which remain radiated for many, many years.

I feel this is also a good opportunity to raise awareness about nuclear power and its capabilities.

But yeah guys, how would you see yourself in such world? After nuclear war? Scavenging for food and shelter? Would you see yourself in such world at all?

Find safety with a raider/scavenger group - The only way to survive would be to take what you need by force whenever you need it.

You have to watch for yourself.

You know, just last night I got to a part of the game (NO SPOILERS) where you go to pretty much ground zero... and has a stomped across the maximum irradiated landscape I couldn't help but think. My god, we actually have the capability to do this to the planet. The world is fictional, yes, but the possibility could very much be reality.

As much as I love post-apocalypse stuff, if I am really, really honest with myself - I hope I die in the beginning turmoil. I can promise you that the survivors immediately following complete and total nuclear disaster will probably wish they were dead.
