All Natural, please help me install it.

Post » Mon Mar 21, 2011 1:25 pm

I spent at least an hour or two trying to install this a little while back. I stopped before I punched a hole in my wall. I couldn't figure it out. It was WAY over my head, and I had absolutely no idea what to. If some of you guys could give a simple explanation on how to do this, I would be very grateful. I'm just not to computer savvy, and I get really angry, and it gives me a real big headache. The main problem I had was installing and using Wyre Bash. I don't like it, and I don't understand it, and I have no idea what it's even for. But I'm fed up with those bright blue windows, so if you guys can help me figure it out, I'd be very grateful.

Do you really need All Natural? Are you sure?

It's just that using Wrye Bash is, as you have discovered, not as straightforward as is using many other mods and utilities. Oblivion Mod Manager, for example. If you're not very computer savvy, as you say, you might want to just take it slow, get used to one thing at a time, and over a few days / weeks / months, or however long, eventually master everything you want or need to.

Just my 2c. Not trying to dissuade you from giving WB a chance (I believe people should do as they wish, for the most part), but it is fairly "advanced", and not that intuitive, as far as mod tools and such go.

edit: And if you do want to proceed with BAIN (that's Wrye Bash's inbuilt installation method) then you could do worse than to read about it http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/ (under Installing Mods -> BAIN installation, for that in particular).

I really don't care all that much about All Natural itself, but it's required for Immersive Interiors, and I really want that. I guess it is pretty much over my head, I probably need to slow down before I screw something up

Then All Natural is not for you. Playing modded Oblivion requires some effort on the player's part and the more mods you add, and the more comples they are, the more effort you have to put in.

This. The way I see it is that as with most things, what you get out of modded Oblivion is related to what you put in - if you don't put in a lot, then you're not going to get a lot out of it either. Wrye Bash is pretty much key to unlocking a whole new level of Oblivion modding above that which OBMM alone can give you, so if you can't handle that, you're not going to handle the increased demands of the 'next level'.

It's not like it is impossible for you to handle it though, it just requires the ability to learn - as silly as it may sound, a lot of people have trouble with the effort and patience required to do so, especially for what is essentially just a game that they wish to derive enjoyment from. So if you really want to, you can do it. :)
