All Patches Released? Honest Hearts anyone?

Post » Wed Nov 03, 2010 3:42 pm

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that as of today, the patches for all systems have been released accordng to the Bethblog. If this is true, The honest hearts trailer and the actual honest hearts are both among us. If Bethesda is smart, they'll release the trailer VERY SOON and release the DLC before the COD map packs release.

I'm interested in the forum's input. Tell how you think Bethesda is going about releasing a trailer and the DLC at this point.

Bethesda and Obsidian have a twisted definition of the word soon.

I just really wish that they would interact with the fans more. If they even gave us a daily update I think people would take this wait a lot easier.

There will be at least two more patches, as the game must be updated each time to add additional achievements/trophies.

I totally agree. Honest Hearts was a very badly kept secret on Bethesdas part. We already know a lot of the story line, the achievements, and the locations, yet Bethesda hasn't even released the trailer, or given us any info leading up to the release. I assume the release date will be given with the trailer, but we're still not certain if the trailer is coming by the end of the month. I assume they will give us a trailer in early May. Maybe the 3rd? When we're supposed to be given info on Old World Blues.

Well isn't that just dandy. Did Bethesda give any info on when those patches will come?

a trailer/update would have been out but the newest patch messed up a lot of peoples saves on the xbox so am pretty sure they are hard at work trying to fix that problem, whats am most concerned about is the time it will take to fix this problem because they want to release the dlc all at the same time for every console without a problem and right now they have a big problem. This is an epic fail if u ask me

If the trailer doesn't come out this week or the following week then, I'm predicting Honest Hearts won't come out until mid or late June.

According to the Bethblog, they have found a solution to the save problem, and that patch should be up later tonight.

"Regarding the Xbox 360 update, we’ve discovered a solution to the issue that’s causing problems with game saves. Updated news on the Xbox 360 update for New Vegas. The update for English versions of the game should be going live later tonight. Exact time is TBA, but it’ll probably be later in the night. For folks playing the game in other languages, the wait is going to be a little longer. When we have a better estimate of what that will be, we’ll let you know."

I don't think that it will be that late. I think that the release of Honest Hearts and Old World Blues will both be closer than we might think. Honest Hearts is definitely coming out in May though.

We already know a lot of the story line, the achievements, and the locations.

We do?
We know it'll involve Graham some tribals called the White Legs and maybe Mormons, other than that what do we really "know" about the story?
And we know it's going to take place in Zion Nation Park and maybe include New Canaan, other than that what do we really "know" about the locations?

From looking at the achievements, you can get a pretty good idea that, you will be doing a lot of quests involving working for tribals in Zion and the Zion Valley. You know that you will have to find and "crush the White Legs", then do work for a tribal named Daniel. We know the work involves supplying his tribe, the Sorrows with some resource. Perhaps medecine or Weapons? Though it is not 100% clear, we have a pretty good idea of some of the plot line. Not much about the Burned Man yet though. Well Played, Bethesda.

ALSO: Somewhere on the Fallot Wikia, there were screenshots of art for the Zion Valley. It looked very scenic. I think this DLC has the potential to be very involved with exploring, much like Point Lookout

Crush the White Legs is one of the achievements, but why? What story is there about them? Why do we need to kill them? Is it optional? Is it required but with a twist?
And supplying The Sorrows will likely be a sidequest not required to progress the main quest line.
Still, why do we need to supply them? With what are we going to supply them? Who are The Sorrows? Who's Daniel?

We have extremely vague clues to what the quests might be about but how they're connected and what is in between is unknown to us.

They sort of backed themselves into a corner by saying that they wanted to fix the bugs before releasing the dlc.

Very true. I'am guessing that the White Legs are obstacles you will face on the way to New Canaan, Graham's home town. The screen shot of combat in Honest Hearts that can be found on the Honest Hearts page in the vault is likely of the Courier fighting a White Leg seeing as her 'legs' are exposed. It would only make sense that that tribal is a White Leg. Overall, you're right, we don't know enough info about the storylien than i thought, but we do in fact know enough for Bethesda to get the clue that they should just give us a damn trailer.

Oh?

Sorrows
Spoiler
The Sorrows are a tribe living in the Zion National Park area of the former Utah state, in the up-coming Fallout new vegas Add-on, Honest Hearts.

Doesn't explain much at all.

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
Spoiler
In 2246, the Mormon missionary Joshua Graham encountered two Followers of the Apocalypse, Calhoun and the man who would come to be known as Caesar. As one of the founders of Caesar's Legion, the Mormons are understandably embarassed about Graham, and are loathe to discuss him.

By 2281, the Mormons of New Canaan control most of the trade routes north of New Vegas, and impose heavy taxes on companies such as the Crimson Caravan, making NCR expansion in the area difficult.

A bit more meaty but still not enough to give a clear view of what their role in it is

White Legs
Spoiler
The White Legs is a tribal living in the area of Zion National Park in 2281.

That sure explains a lot.

Daniel
Spoiler
Daniel lives in the Mojave Wasteland in 2281. According to the Honest Hearts achievements, he will play a crucial role in the Sorrows tribe.

Uh-huh, who let this piece of speculation be on a wikia entry?
It's not certain he's going to play a crucial role. He might just be the chef and needs to be resupplied for a chili con carne festival.

May my Hand Forget its Skill
Spoiler
Evacuate Zion.

Why?

In a foreign land
Spoiler
Scout the Zion Valley for signs of the White Legs.

White Legs might be a bit more hidden?
They're at first opposition?
Again, not enough to base facts on.

O Daughter of Babylon
Spoiler
Crush the White Legs

Why?
For what reason?
Is there a diplomatic solution?
Is this optional?

I wouldn't say that the wikia knows any more than I already did.

I doubt they'd release immediately after the trailer. Probably a 1-2 week period from there.

Then again with the DLC delay for the patches it's an odd schedule.

Technically they could of announced the DLC during the patch period but I suspect they tried to appeal to the ones angry that any sort of DLC would be released before the base game is patched.

So even though I want Honest Hearts out a lot I'm glad their patching up the game.

Of coarse Technically(Yet again) it would of been a better idea to do this in the first place near launch before any DLC development started. And by this I mean the current patch along with the one slated further down the road for probably summer.

Or maybe the end of the year seeing as it's almost say a little more than 6 1/2 months since launch and we're still needing patches.

But oh well.
