Nope, I'm keeping you on the list so you feel obligated to get the game :P

Very well. Hopefully I can still get the game.

The first one came out on Thursday so I guess they'll be doing the same thing this week. Maybe it has to do with timezones or something.

Oh wait, the third one is in the "Latest News" part of the page, but for some reason the second one is still the latest article. Well here's the third one:

http://apb-evolved.com/news/112-apb-evolved-wednesday-03032010

I really like the sound of the social districts, it will be nice to have someplace to take a break from normal gameplay.

As for this:

First off, in answer to your question, we haven’t released any information on the payment model for APB. Anything you might hear is pure speculation at this point. What I can say is that APB will be sold at retail (so you will need to buy the game). It’s a server based title, so there will be ongoing costs. However, we won’t force you in to any sort of monthly payment, nor will it be a “traditional free to play with microtransactions” model. All I can say is keep your eyes and ears peeled for announcements.

Well it's good to know we won't be forced to pay per month, though it looks like there will be some sort of recurring payment. Maybe every 6 months or every year. Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be better than monthly payments.

Well, if I do have to pay more than once for the game, you can strike me off the list. I'm not doing it. Na-ah. No way. On yer bike, ya money grabbin' t'eives.

I don't see why they can say stuff like "Oh you have to pay monthly because we have servers".

Do the rest of the multiplayer games out there not do just that? Don't have to pay per month to play CoD, MGO, Guild Wars.

Well lets not get too hasty, we still don't know exactly what the payment plan is. Lets wait until we know the exact details before abandoning all hope. :)

I don't see why everyone is so surprised. They've been saying the entire time that there would be some kind of payment plan. They just haven't what kind yet.

So there won't be microtransactions and no monthly fee but still "recurring costs". That sounds a lot like a monthly fee to me.

We know we wont have to pay per month, and per-month subscription plans are what turn me off of most MMOs. I would prefer no recurring costs, but if I have to pay a small fee every 6 months or every year, I can live with that. I'm personally waiting until we know exactly what the payment options are before I start freaking out.

If they make it a 'Pay small price every hour played' thing, I'll be pissed.

You can put any songs you want into the game and listen to them on the go or while driving. So you can put country music in it if you want.

Games that have servers hosted by the developers and don't have monthly fees are the minority. Most multiplayer PC games are hosted by the players computer/ someone rents/owns a dedicated server to run, and not the company. It isn't so absurd to think you have to pay to have someone take care of bandwidth, hardware, upkeep, location, and updates.

If the game is as good as they make it out to be, I'll likely be getting it regardless. The less it costs per X amount of time is just icing on the cake.

It talks about the music system some more, but there's a nice little bit of gameplay at the end where they demonstrate how people on the street will hear the music coming from your car. Considering how we have such a small amount of gameplay footage, it's great to see just a little bit more.

New stuff from GDC:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/realtime-worlds-david-jones-interview?page=1

http://gdc.gamespot.com/story/6253457/gdc-2010-apb-updated-impressions

Apparently the payment system will be "completely unique" and "never used before," and that nobody who's been shown it has complained. Of course I'm still skeptical until they actually reveal it.
