All Settlements produce get stored at Red Rocket?

Post » Wed Jan 27, 2016 11:22 am

I've just started settlements in a serious way on my 2nd playthrough, I set up 6 big Water Purifiers in Sanctuary and 2 days later checked the work bench, no water stored, so I carried on got to Red Rocket and found 8 bottles of water in that workbench. I hadn't left them in there, Does that mean all produce from every settlement goes to Red Rocket automatically?

No it must be a bug in your game.

Do you have enough power to the water purifiers, and do you have a trade route between the two settlements? To my understanding, the first settlement on the trade route will share water food and junk. It doesn't show in the inventory. Like sanctuary to red rocket will share food, water, and junk, then red rocket to Abernathy will share food water and junk. But Abernathy won't be sharing food and water with sanctuary because no direct line. The junk will goto all connected tho. As far as red rocket getting all the water I think something is up with that

No trade routes then nothing gets shared.

Are your settlers drinking all the water? How many water are you producing at red rocket?

water storage has always been buggy for me at sanctuary

has worked perfectly fine everywhere else but for example in latest game i had an industrial and medium water purifier, this was netting me 26-36ish waters a day

was working fine untill one day it just stopped, i wasnt getting a single water in my workbench (this has happened in my other 2 characters at sanctuary too, all of a sudden just stops). went around a game month without a single water being stored.

all my settlements regardless of supply line or not have an overabundance of water resource, i always build over and above water requirements (and nets me decent monies that way too)

i tried storing them and re-placing them. that didnt work

i tried scrapping them and rebuilding. also didnt work

but then i seeded the workbench with a single bottle of purified water. Now they work normally again and am getting my water supplies each day as normal.

it may of been a combination of what i did or it could be a coincidence, but try placing a single purified water in your workbench in sanctuary and see if they start producing again?

8 bottles in red rocket is nothing, i doubt its getting the water from sanctuary that will just be its own output (you have water pumps there?)

everyone of my settlements produces its own output into its own workbench.

edit: oh and just incase you dont know. the water producers dont "add" water persay to the workbench, they over-write it

eg if you had 30 water in there and the next day they make another 29, you wont have 59 in there you will have 29.

found that out the hard way on my first character, i was storing everything in workbench and then realized the 100 or more that id found out in the world was all gone being replaced over and over by 20 waters or so. also food, bastards ate all my prewar food. fat gits

I recommend building more purifiers, and getting that up around 100, so it's obvious when it hits. And wait longer, I've seen water take 24-72 hours for production
