all the armour you want....

Post » Wed Jan 27, 2010 10:21 pm

(ignoring faction armour/artifacts)

light
leather
fur
fur of odd skyrim animals
leathers of odd syrim animals
mithril plate
iron chainmail
glass

medium
- iron (thin plates)
imperial
steel (thin plates)
orcish
ebony (thin plates)
adamantium
daedric (golden saint)
daedric (dark seducer)
daedric (thin plated dremora- arabic looking?)

heavy
iron
steel
ebony
dwemer
daedric ( dremora samurai)
daedric (dremora western)- the heaviest and most protective armour in the game)

unarmoured
padded shirt/robe
mithril chain mail

firstly- dremora have clans, it makes sense that each clan has different armour, else there is nothing to explain....

this
http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTEUEgFmul1GMW-NPhQyCQKnc2cmz7WAzs7-Jv6JEeLqx3Bz_6FeQ

turning into

i think both are pretty cool, therefor i think there should be both a western daedric and an eastern looking daedric. but then again there would probably more that two clans, thats why there is a medium dremora armour, i was thinking that could be arabic styled http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v83/wraithdt/My%20Portfolio/Saracen.jpg or http://czh.fj61.net/UploadFiles/200505/2006213174934620.jpg - because that would look awesome dremorified
yet dremora aren't the only daedra to have armour, hence other daedric armour belonging to other daedra is included.

secondly, each armour should have more than one style, anyone remember bonemold?

i am sad that indoril cant be included due to being of a morrowind order :sadvaultboy:

it was the most awsome looking armour in the series- perhaps it could be found in a quest as an artifact :whistling:

I'd like to see some sort of take on scale mail (overlapping metal plates, flexible like chainmail). Also, more armors made of creature parts (bone, skin, exoskeleton, scales, ossiderms, etc)

I'd like to see armors that have a lot more hodge-podge to them, like the Netch Leather armor of TESIII, as opposed to perfectly uniform mono-material armor.

I really hope that indoril armor would be artifact, maybe found in a cave in western Skyrim on a rotting corpse.

One thing I've always had a problem with in the TES games about armour is that there is no reason to wear fur armour. Leather armour is just as ubiquitous and better. I hope they implement a speed/stat penalty against protection, so there is a reason to wear different armours, not just the best you can find in the type you use.

This would give a better reason to have variation within materials. Different furs have different stat reduction and protection values.

Yes scale and mirror armor(not that kind) are some of my favorites. Specially the one that look like small square tiles riveted into the leather.

I too would love to see more peacemeal armor. Armor created from fallen foes pieces of armor (mer, men, and, animal alike.)

Chain mail shouldn't be light armor.

And I'd just like it if you were able to wear tabards and surcoats over some armors.

Nordic Ring Mail
Nordic Mail Armor (Skaal in Bloodmoon)
(Frost) Wolf Armor
(Frost) Bear Armor

If anything I'd like the focus to be more on localized (Nordic) armor, with spillover regular armor from previous games :)

I never even thought of that, so kudos to you. :P

But I actually love the idea of different factions having something like that that you could rock depending on who you side with (assuming you can even pick a side).

They have that and I'll be happy.

Armor I would want: (Not all the armor that would be in the game, just some ones that would be cool to have)

Light:
-Fur (White wolf fur or grizzly fur looking)
-Leather
-Padded (Like reinforced cloth.. I guess)
Medium:
-Iron Scalemail armor (Also steel, mithril .. etc. progressive levels of this til glass.)
-Reinforced Leather armor (Leather armor with thin metal plates for added protection)
-Assassin armor (exclusive to dark brotherhood ;D equal protection and mobility)
Heavy
-Iron plate armor (Steel+ also)
-Orc-made plate armor
-Daedric Armor
-Nordic Armor (Oh yeah :D Would be almost as good as daedric, around orcish level)

With the mention of Orcish armor...

I hope it is similar to the Orcish Armor from Morrowind rather than that of Oblivion. It would make more sense in a cold climate and frankly just looks much much cooler.

I liked the Mithril from Oblivion, the Fur Armor too.

The mithril armor had the most awesome helmet and shield in oblivion I have to admit.
I liked the fur armor just for looks for my khajiit marksman/thief guy

id like to see a greater variation of armours. i dont really care what they are, as long as they are many and each have an advantage and disadvantage to using them.

haha, I had a Khajit who always ran around in Fur Armor too. Had a kind of Slavic mountain/desert explorer look about him. Had him running around with Fur Armor and I believe either a Steel or Silver Warhammer.

That was fun...I miss that.

Like others have said, I want most of the armor Viking-themed in some way (both historical and pop-culture Vikings, for variety). I also want them to replace the Light/Medium/Heavy Armor designation with Hide, Mail, and Plate Armor skills. It just makes more sense (how does wearing leather make you better at moving around in glass armor, any way?).

more like- how am i not skilled in glass armour when i am a master with my heavy daedric armour- sureley it would be so much easier

id be ok if they did radical stuff to armour, but they need armour classes, just maybe not armour levels

so true. chain mail is one of the heaviest type of armor made. I agree with the tabards and surcoats as well. It would be cool to represent your guild, or go in disguise as a city guard by obtaining different tabards and surcoats.

you darn right we call it armor, and we drive on the right (in both senses) side of the road

there does need to be some viking armor, I would like to see steal and iron more implemented also

and really chainmail should go under another armor, it shouldn't just be the armor

they should also make some armor for your beard
