Read it and weep fanboy Cevat Yerli quoted by nvidia as stating and I quote “A supersoldier that needs to save NYC from an alien invasion needs the best tech possible. That’s not only his Nanosuit, but also stunning DX11 geometric realism that a GPU like the GeForce GTX 580 can offer for our PC gamers.”

Gotta love how you think it's fanboyish to care how the game plays more then the underlying tech behind it. Besides, they may have backed out due to feasability... Since I don't have the software/hardware to do this, can someone answer me a question or 2?

1) Did Crysis 1 look any better in DX10? How much Framerate did you lose?
2) Same questions for Metro 2033, only with DX11.

In the end this is more curiousity then anything else, but I was under the impression that DX11 made Metro just about unplayable (and the "reccomended requirements" laughably high).

All i need in crysis 2 is a HD texture (and not only textures) pack (retexture of the game), dx10 at least and **** PROPER AA.
There is no difference between gamer, advanced and hardcoe and also there is no difference between the PC and console version.

Camarillo said, "Crysis 2 will support DirectX 11 but we'll talk more about that in the future. There's an announcement coming soon about that."

Do better research next time.

In 2011 it kind of is because the game play in an FPS is pretty much gonna be of equal quality across the board. And exaggerating a minor difference to seem like something important is what fanboy's usually do. Thats what makes then fanboys if there was a clear difference (which is what we want from improved graphics) highlighting it doesn't make you a fanboy it makes you a competent observer.

Perhaps you could elaborate on how doing a little research has led you to conclude that Crytek -never- stated that Crysis 2 would have DX11. It seems to me that, in order to come to such a conclusion, one would have to read through every single press release on Crysis 2 since the game was officially announced, making sure that there is no mention by a Crytek employee of DX11 in Crysis 2. That, my friend, would take a -lot- of research. You probably didn't do that, right?
He has shown there isn't any articles, its your job to prove him wrong. l2Debate nub

Wrong, retard. He hasn't shown anything. Read the thread, nub.

not many ppl have DX11 card. Itsstill minority. I have gtx260 dx10 card and I can run everything maxed out on 1680x1050. So i dont need dx11 card. But it will be cool if they make at least dx10. Because dx10 is really better.. nice shadows/ssao. try lotro or bc2

btw I dont understand why in xfire is option to select dx10 renderer..
