All These Questions And Still No Official Answers

The list of shame I call it. I don't think I've ever looked forward to a game with so much missing information for the consumer. I have doubts that it will be released until Q3-Q4.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. I actually know more about BF3 which is being released at the end of this year than about Crysis 2 which is being released in 40 days.

You know if you spent some time like I did, and watched all the video commentaries on MP, and watched the tech demos, as well as Crysis 2 TV, all of which I found easily on Youtube, then you might not be beating your head on Cryteks nose while they try to improve Crysis 2.

I guess your olny talking about the PC version, so at a guess,

1. Dedi Servers - Certainly Hope so, can't see it for Console though.
2. Which (if any) anti cheat protection will we have. - Same as C1 MP?, that or PB, what else???
3. Full DX11 support, tessellation etc. Dropped support for DX9 ? - From "InCrysis" CryEngine 3 supports DirectX 11 on the PC, so Crysis 2 will have support for DX11 features.
4. The Editor - It came with all the other titles released, so don't see any reason why not.
5. SDK - Unsure.
6. All game modes explained ? - Keep checking gamesas loads of info always being updated!
7. PC Demo date, still think this will be post release - Within next 6 weeks I'm guessin if at all?
8. Minimum specs known, but not recommended specs ? - They gave away Nvidia 470 GTX's other week so.......
9. Available on Steam, which versions. - Be available digital someone I guess.
10. Zero information about what to expect from single player. - You not seen the trailers?
11. Still no PC video SS, so what do we expect graphically. Linked to point 3 ? - Watch the trailers again.....
12. Battle recorder - Not seen this since BF2.
13. First person views in spectator mode - Did you play the demo?
14. Respawn method(s) - again did you play the demo?

Ive seen all of the videos and they don't answer any of these questions.
Hell, we don't even know the playercount of the multiplayer on pc.
we only know it's going to be "more".

i hope dx9 dies soon. The only reason why it's still around is because engines support it. The next batch of engines will likely kill it off.

Dedicated Servers were announced today which is a nice start. I expect this to be the first step in releasing subsequent server questions and to what extent the game will be modable.

Yeah, but it looks like we can only play on Crytek approved servers, which I am totally against. I wonder if this is about money, control, or both.

And what about LAN server?

I can only imagine what mess they will have if they dont release a editor within weeks of release, crymod will be like a nuclear mushroom cloud hehe

but cell you made some good points, in the recent interview with the Cevat yerli(edge) he said that NO pc footage has yet been shown so everything was xbox or pc with xbox config, i mean its 40days from release common what is this for ****?? wil the first time we see PC footage be when we play the PC demo, is that a 1th of april joke or something??

and i want steam version to, some news about dx11 would be nice. But overall you made some very valid points lots of people are concernced about

Cryisis is all about modding. If they give us that company controlled server ****, I won't be buying. Why would I want to play COD on 50 tiny maps? I want Crysis Wars 2, which looks like its only going to come from modding.

Really i dont know what i should think about the Dx11 thingy.
I have a Gtx 280 .. a Dx10 card.. so tessalation is out of the question for me. ( but not if geometry shader would be an option)
But: Its also not possible on Dx11 cards like the Gtx 460 for example. ( speakin of very heavy tessalation that would really push the game).
In fact the only good examples for a good use of tessalation are benchmarks like Unigine Heaven or something... Metro 2033 and Call of Pripyat or AVP are not really good examples i think. So maybe the very high settings will be exclusive for cards like the GTX 580 which are strong enough to handle heavy tessalation.

THis is a Nvidia optimized title, so I do expect to see tessellation. Many of us would be disappointed it its not their. I got a gtx 570 for crysis 2

Time for a bump on this topic.

Please Crytek stop drip feeding us "marketing" information about weapons and give us some real details. I don't really care for the nano-suit showroom ffs. All the info in original post if very important especially to server owners, clans, modders, mappers etc.

^^ What he said!

The marketing bumpf is just that and totally unnecessary for us. We've preordered already and in some cases bought a half a dozen copies of it for friends too. What we want now is the important info so that we can start planning...

With so little time to release I still can't believe customers are in the dark of what to expect from Crysis 2. So here my list of item I have either not seen officially from Crytek or I have missed as I don't sit and read the forums from morning to night. Bare in mind the below list as far as I am aware have not been confirmed OFFICIALLY.

1. Dedi Servers OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED Confirmed
1a. If dedicated server moddable Not confirmed
1b. Linux files Eventually
1c. Admin tools Confirmed
2. Which (if any) anti cheat protection will we have. Punkbuster, confirmed
3. Full DX11 support, tessellation etc. Dropped support for DX9 ? OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED DX9 STILL IN DX11 is in
4. The Editor Confirmed
5. SDK Eventually
6. All game modes explained ? Not confirmed
7. PC Demo date, still think this will be post release..I was wrong :D RELEASE DATE 1ST OF MARCH March is most likely
8. Minimum specs known, but not recommended specs ? 5770 and over
9. Available on Steam, which versions. Don't think so
10. Zero information about what to expect from single player. It's awesome
11. Still no PC video SS, so what do we expect graphically. Linked to point 3 ? DX9 High is Crysis DX10 Very High
12. Battle recorder Use fraps
13. First person views in spectator mode Don't need it
14. Respawn method(s) Saywut?
15. Server files on disc. Yeah, as always
16. LAN. Yeah
17. Dedi server file access. Not sure

I'll stop now but these are just off the top of my head. Some pretty important information is lacking when so close to release, less 40 days or so. Marketing fail so far if you ask me.

TBH I think he totally misses the point regarding the battle recorder and the first person views whilst spectating, but it is a good way of going back and adding the updated news to your post.
