So, here I am sorta bored, so I hooked up my old N64 and decided to play a bit of The Legend of Zelda Majoras Mask
Game booted up fine (although I had to mess around with the Controller a bit, the N64 Joystick is crap although not hard to repair), but I immediately experienced this strange glitch
I get the opening scene I am sure we are all Familiar with, Skull Kid knocks us out, steals the Ocarina of Time, and rides off an Epona.. but I noticed something weird..
up in my right hand corner all three of my C buttons said they were assigned to the Ocarina of Time, which is weird because you don't get the Ocarina till later and an Item can only be assigned to one C Button at a time..
Decided to Open my Inventory, and for some strange reason, Every Slot on my Inventory screen had the Ocarina of Time in it.. I go to my Mask Screen, and same thing, Every Mask Slot had the Ocarina in it..
I shake my head, and think "huh, well this is extremely strange, ahh well I'll continue on and see what happens.."
I get to the point we meet the Mask Salesman and he tells us to go retrieve the Ocarina from Skullkid, but since I already have it (or, many of it to be accurate) it immediately triggered the learn the Song of Healing scene afterwards..
So, I exit the clock tower, still holding a few dozen magical Ocarinas, but was unable to go any further because Link had no Sword for some strange reason so I could not leave clock town..
Deleted the save and restarted, and now everything works fine..
Now Majoras Mask is far from a new game at this point, yet I had never even heard of such a glitch happening (and I have beaten it at least a Dozen times over the years), nor can i find much record of it online of it happening to other people..
So, what about you? have you ever sat down for a play session of an older title, and experienced a game-breaking glitch you had never heard of that you can find barely any documentation of online?
